6th February 2018, the BBC stopped using Met Office data for weather reports, swapping to MeteoGroup which became part of the private US weather services company DTN in September of the same year. Things start getting a bit dodgy there; the MeteoGroup, specialising in offshore weather monitoring, was challenged for generating inaccurate data, but DTN is supposed to be the bees knees in weather data analysis (among other things).
DTN currently uses algorithmic based analysis - what many term, incorrectly, A.I. - to supply data to the US Climate Change Network (CCN) which, established in 1989, works on the presupposition of human-caused climate change…
Needless to say, the CCN is an influential organisation, and their data is considered absolutely reliable…
As you’re probably aware, the internet is a bit of an echo chamber on the subject of climate change, but I gather that the CCN may have developed, or contributed towards, UN Net Zero policies.
