Eldest son, 27, living at home. He’s angry that he can’t find well-paid work, and so afford to find a wife and start his own family. I’m a Boomer. I’m supporting him in many ways, financially not the least. It’s a struggle, too; I’m over 60 and being exploited by a system that only pays the minimum wage. Why blame me when this situation is actually a cynical reapplication of the principles for Reducing the Surplus Population by those who see the working class as “insects in the dust” (read your Dickens).

@biscottigelato8574 as of right now, though, it’s certain minorities oppressing the majority.

@auvet1986 sorry, I’m centre right.

Feminism didn’t double the workforce! Did you know that women were once required to give up work when they married? Fine for the middle class upwards, but it led to a lot of struggling working class families. Heck, the majority of my mother’s siblings (she was the youngest, born 1924) never had children because they couldn’t afford to do so… Why are we Boomers vilified? Simply because we lived through the history certain people are currently lying about.

My doctor recently recommended therapy - specifically CBT - to help me in my current situation. Then he laughed and said he couldn’t put a therapist through that. I’m 63, btw.

@seaofseeof technically speaking, Boomer’s grandchildren raised Gen Z. Stop blaming us; there’s been a lot of PC deliberately foisted on the later generations.

I read up on ACT - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy - a few years ago. The author explained that ACT is like changing the points on a circular train track so the traveller can get free of the loop of rumination, as opposed to CBT, which is a never-ending trap.

Here’s an update - coordinated Islamist riots yesterday in many EU countries and Mexico. The mask is off… oh, sorry, an awful lot of the riot leaders were sporting a facially approved keffiyah.

Read “An Essay on the Principle of Population”, published 1798. Then you’ll understand….
