Technically, you could argue that every male householder was once required to own a bow and practice at the butts every Sunday, but that’s not the same as the US right to carry a gun… and even that right boils down to permission to have a primitive firearm as agreed by local officials.   3. One of my adult sons didn’t vote. He has no photo ID and refused to get a temporary ID online as - as he put it - it’s a scam to find out who’s escaped the net. He has no reason to buy a passport and, so far, no inclination to learn to drive. I’m willing to bet that a lot of Brits who didn’t vote have no photo ID and/or no access to the internet. That’s disenfranchisement by the back door!
