  1. Abusers tend to colonise spaces by demanding their victims remove personal items or else they remove/destroy them. It’s about control. Hoarders, on the other hand, keep everything because they have lost their ability to appreciate of the value of things, which may be due to mental illness or excessive stress. They will invent logical fallacies to excuse their behaviour and will be fixated on retaining everything, even to their own detriment. It’s lack of any control.
