All these comments trying to define women by their reproductive organs... I know many of you mean well, but that's referred to as objectification, the act of degrading someone to a mere object, in this case a source of male pleasure and, of course, a baby producing machine. This kind of thinking is prevalent in many parts of our so-called civilised world and the result is FGM, 'honour' killings, aborting female fetuses and so forth.
According to the dictionary, a woman is indeed 'an adult female human being'. There, done and dusted; we all know the actual meaning of those words and please stop being clever about needing to define each one, because it's just a matter of looking in the dictionary. That is, until They come for our dictionaries a la 1984.
The whole Woke agenda is as cynical AF.

If a government wants to control a population, how can it go about that? Spies, bullets, random arrests, torture, fear... Not exactly subtle and it’s highly inconvenient if some people still won’t comply. Drugs that dull citizens’ minds, take away their ‘edge’, make them feel good temporarily but worse in the long run, encouraging addiction, are so much neater, neh?
Anti-depressants and weed. A perfect storm. Well done, America.
PS: I bet those with real illness, for whom anti-depressants were created, can’t get them because costs, doctor says no etc. It’s a whole new level of social cruelty and control to refuse treatment when it’s required.

I completely agree that forcing and/or shaming medical students to comply with The Message is completely wrong, very cult-ish, abusive and controlling, but I’m sorry, I don’t agree with the smug assertion that we, in the 20th century, should look with pity on those who, because they came before us, knew no better.
Our ancestors knew there were illnesses of the body or mind that would resolve themselves; they knew that some interventions, such as were available, could ensure the patient lived; and they knew that, in incurable cases, the patient and their family needed comfort. Ritual and ‘magic’ played their part in supporting medicine. It’s still the case today where, for example, Christian priests pray with the sick and sit by deathbeds…
Also, do try to remember we’ll be the primitives to our descendants.

I’ve just made a comment on a thread, but let me reiterate the core of it here: what’s happening in every single situation Matt discusses is abuse, most especially of common sense. Weak, mean, personally ineffective bullies, supported by sycophantic flying monkeys, are being urged to use gaslighting, word salads and smear campaigns against their especial targets (women, physical sport, minorities, the family etc.). It’s hard to fight back, because there’s no logic and arguing with an abuser can make things much, much worse.
It’s a dynamic that every abuse survivor recognises: the victim is declared to be the cause of the abuse; the abuser is only trying to ‘save’ the victim from themselves and their incorrect opinions, which must be replaced by the abuser’s; the abuser is superior to the victim in every way; the victim is the abuser and the abuser is the victim... The core of abuse is entitlement and the abuser doesn’t have to use fists, although that’s always an option.
These nasty individuals are enjoying the ultimate power trip. Their inflated sense of self-righteousness is being ‘justified’ and, feeling empowered, they cause even more harm because no one can figure out how to stand up to them. Then other bullies of the same ilk feel the possibility of vicarious power and start adding their venom to the brew... then the impressionable or frightened decide they’d rather be riding the Juggernaut than crushed beneath its wheels and offer up sacrifices to prove their dedication.
Possibly somewhere, someone is laughing like a cartoon villain.
