  1. My 23 y-o artist son, who dyes his hair all sorts of colours (it’s currently silver-grey) is frequently asked if he’s a girl, to which he usually replies, sarcastically, what do you think? That, he tells me, engenders either embarrassed apologies or raw terror. He’s 6’ tall. He also advises me that teal hair indicates Wokeness and green means you identify with The Joker. Avoid these colours at all costs.

  2.  @bujharvard9313  after we’d lost a hockey match, our sport teacher, a rather gung-ho lady, would tell us we played ‘like a bunch of little girls’. Ours was an all-girls school and those words were an insult!
