When I told my husband about ‘sensitivity readers’ and their desecration of texts, that is effectively censoring the past, he was completely uninterested until I said that Fleming’s Bond series is now being redacted ‘for the modern audience’. He was horrified and said that he’s glad he has the whole lot in paperback. I added that Dahl is getting this treatment, too, and he was outraged. Finally! He’s started to wake up to the insidious Woke agenda!

  2. Cavill could have been an excellent next Bond. Meanwhile, Warhammer 40K fans eagerly wait to see if he’s cast as the Emperor, a Primarch or any hero of the Imperium of their choice (I’m in the Ciaphas Cain camp).

  3. Fleming based Bond on a small collection of people with whom he was most familiar - Niven, Lee and himself - who were all bona fide war heroes. Altering his Bond books is, therefore, a post-war crime and possibly traitorous!

  5. They came for the ‘n’ word and many thought that was pretty reasonable; now they’re coming for anything and everything that they’ve randomly declared ‘offensive’. The inevitable result will be one plot, one set of approved diverse non-characters, a lot of rote talking about hurt feelings while in corridors, and The Message. Again, the majority are at the mercy of a tiny minority. The question is, can we do anything to stop this because we’re being f*d over with the approval of elected governments.
