  1.  @kyleellis1825  that’s the thing: if you’re hit, you know it and you can show the bruises. But emotional and psychological abuse can be so subtle that the victim might not realise their position and, if they eventually suss it, may not be believed because they don’t have bruises. That’s one reason why the term ‘domestic violence’ was replaced with ‘intimate partner abuse’. I suggest reading ‘Why Does He Do That?’ by Lundy Bancroft.
