  2. Lovey, a good friend went on hajj and, on his return, swore never again. Part of the ritual is a blood sacrifice - a young camel is often the victim - where a prayer is said and the trussed-up beast then gets a close neck shave, if you get what I mean. The bindings are to stop the thrashing which might injure the imam and his butcher.

  3. It is banned… but exceptions are made… I recall a case in the East Midlands from at least three decades ago. Two men slaughtered a trussed-up sheep on a street and proceeded to butcher it. The police brought in H&S and that did for ‘em in court.
