  1. I’m confused… surely “nonce”, derived from Middle English, means “for the one purpose”? Hence a bike nonce is just someone who is employing a specific two-wheeled form of transportation to a given destination… what’s so libellous about that? 🤣🤣🤣

  2. “Walking on eggshells” is a euphemism for abuse victims trying to avoid triggering their abuser which is, of course, ultimately next to impossible. Abusive personalities (q.v. the Dark Tetrad) are notoriously sensitive and quite capable of deliberately misunderstanding an innocent remark in order to declare outright warfare; genially saying “good morning” can result in the sinking of your alleged battleship. I guess we’ve all individually been there at some time, but now we’re all in it together as a nation.
