  1. We have similar gates in a lot of UK train stations. They tend to close very quickly with a snap and, combined with our tendency to politeness, tail-gating is not usually a problem. We also have ‘in’ and ‘out’ separately. Oh, and having railway police to hand doesn’t hurt, either.
