  1. A can of Fray Bentos often featured in my family’s meals during the 1960s and 70s, either in stews, salads or sandwiches. If the key got lost, my Mam had to mangle the can with a tin opener, but my Dad’s more forthright method involved a hacksaw! Bully beef could be salty but at least it tasted better than Spam…
