Bull! Where did your writers get their information? Trip Jennings, you need to find a new job! There's a 14% chance of it being a 9+ hitting within the next 200 years!!! This report is ridiculous!!! I guess this is what happens when a weather expert tries to act like a seismologist, for which she has no training. And what your little graph showed but what you didn't point out was that while the last 9 did take place in 1700 the last 9 BEFORE that took place 2400 years ago, or 400 years before Jesus was born. Now, what does that tell you, weather girl? The normal pattern is to have two 8+ quakes, separated by about 70 years, usually starting around southern Oregon and another one between Portland and Seattle. An 8 is 32 TIMES smaller than a 9. But you don't say any of that here, do you? You just what to scare us! Although, admittedly, why anybody would live close to the beach when tsunamis are always going to occur no matter how small the Megathrust is, is asking why anybody is also suicidal.
