The British and French had to set some border lines. you are the one who needs to prove that any other border set different than those set by Sykes-Picot would have resulted in a better outcome. Possibly mono ethnical small states would have been more stable on the inside, but such mono-ethnicities would have been more keen to fight over resources with other ethnicities. Such division would have made Kurdish area rich due to oil vs. poor western area.

I challenge you to find any UN document or contemporary newspaper of the 1950's that mentions an entity of Palestinians. If you try that tool on [Arabs, Jews, Palestinians] you will see that this rebranding started in 1964. The Arab-Israeli conflict is a majority-minority conflict, where the regions majority is unable to accept, unable to even fathom, the existence of a minority state, a state that is not ruled by Muslim Arabs, be it Assyrian, Maronite, Druze or Allah forbid Jews. The very existence of a state of Jews contradicts and shatters basic beliefs religious and cultural.

  28.  @osheridan  Correct it is 2023 yet the great and grandparents of majority of middle easterners could not read and write. in 1944 in between children 5 to 19 45% did go to school. Parent that can not read and write can not produce educated children, it takes few generations. Industrialized and highly educated Europe developed over few hundred years. BTW among Jews of the middle east the literacy was very high even in 1933.
