Comments by "M R" (@emm_arr) on "Brexit coup: Rees-Mogg so far fails to topple May" video.
Spot on. He's the clever guy for non-clever guys. Speaking of clever, people have stopped alleging that David Davis is a party intellectual. His stint as a minister showed him up as no more than a daft old soak.

@Tracertme I'm far keener for you to be more informed. I wonder how keen you are? Probably not enough to look into it all by yourself!
7
Do you know the "real story" at all? What's ATAD?
5
@Tracertme "I already invited you" I know, but you don't wish to know enough to put in the effort. "if as you express, you are "keen" for people to be informed, tell us all" No. You don't wish to know enough to put in the effort. Nice try - but I only inform people who show willing.
5
@Tracertme "where would you like to start" I keep telling you that I hope YOU do the starting here. That's THREE times I have said this in plain English. "But generally it starts with The ATAD "Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive" obliges EU Member States to implement a number of tax measures aimed at preventing tax evasion and base erosion in the EU." Well, it looks like you did start! Eventually! The "profit shifting" bit is also important because many First World countries' tax take is falling. "Again I never mentioned it and you appear reluctant to want to make your point?" As you know what ATAD is, you can surely see why I mention it in relation to the "real story" here.
4
@Snipersight00 "Mogg has plenty of answers for your woes." No. He talks, but it is not credible real-world stuff.
3
"The EU is plagued by problems on a continuous basis." Every country or group of countries can be characterised like that. So can you personally. Dismantling yourself would fix that.
2
Sometimes language is used figuratively.
2
I think two reasons: our press barons would like to avoid ATAD so he's a figure to push to the great unwashed, and he's a vain, preening look-at-me character who loves the attention. I mean - seriously - he's a guy who invented a silly accent for himself and who became his own teenage pose. It's all about the attention. I suspect he's even more ego-ridden than Alexander Johnson. He's not as clever, though.
2
"Like all those leftie scumbags who preach diversity but live nowhere near it?" Dunno. Do they exist outside whatever it is you get your news from?
2
People should press Rees-Mogg how much he stands to gain by avoiding ATAD.
1
@nicwhite9417 Really? It's a start. Do you happen to know the details?
1
"It’s simple, if there is a 2nd referendum, it’s clear democracy doesn’t exist" No. Nice try!
1
Or you stay in the EU - like most people would now prefer to do!
1
@ChristianIce Give it time ... its the obvious fix because it benefits the party as well as the country.
1
"wake up, the eu is getting more and more desperate" You wake up! Sell out? That's the people who trained you up politically so you want to o their bidding at the ballot box.
1
@naughteedesign You imagine some very odd stuff! Wakey wakey.
1
"He's polite" He's serially disloyal and states untruths in a silly accent he invented. "he's concise" He sets out to mislead, and with some he succeeds. "and answers questions directly" Sort of - but not really. He doesn't declare his full earnings in the Members' Interests because he has devised a way to pay himself that avoids the need to declare this in full. Private Eye has pressed him on this and he claims it is a "private matter". Well, not really, as his business loos set to do quite well because of Brexit. JRM is no better than others. If anything, he's a fair bit worse.
1
@scapingby He's clearly serially disloyal! Misleads? Sure. He avoids the very serious issues and makes intentionally dumbed-down points about cheap footwear and the like while simply avoiding the impact of these same trade agreements on farmers. He does this to mislead you - and it looks like he succeeded. Don't trust this man. Look at his voting record.
1
@scapingby And yet you don't see that he isn't pointing out the downsides to this. That's why it is misleading. It's a sales technique. Come on.
1
@scapingby It should be obvious any cheaper foreign commodity will have an impact on the UK producers of tat commodity, so cheaper food means UK farmers suddenly being at a market disadvantage. It should be obvious that any impact will have knock-on impacts. Cheaper food will mean UK farmers going under and their workers losing their jobs. He conveniently and repeatedly fails to point out stuff like this. It's a sales technique. I have no idea why you are suspending critical thinking here.
1
@scapingby That's hardly a good response. Rees-Mogg is not being candid, so him omitting to mention that he wants to shaft the agriculture sector royally is exactly the sort of reason his claims should not be taken at face value. Nice try, but not really good end-to-end reasoning from you.
1
@wolfborn6483 "The medias job is to report news, information in an unbiased way." No, it's not. Gutter trash post - in your own words.
1
@wolfborn6483 Does my post help illustrate your own reasoning?
1
Glib.
1
"A SECOND REFERENDUM COULD LEAD TO PUBLIC DISORDER." Sod off! I denounce that as Project Fear. Sod right off!
1
Jake wants more money, and with his interests, Brexit is just the ticket.
1
Madarse post there. "Channel 4 are clearly in bed with the government" Yes - clearly so! Mannering? Mainwaring.
1
"Another referendum is not democratic" Drivel!
1
"WHAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND ABOUT" Nice try!
1
"If democracy and the will of the people is to be preserved, parliament should go for the no deal option - NOT another referendum" Topsy-turvy reasoning there. Nice one!
1
Yeah. Sure. Why not?
1
"The Metrolibs NEVER got over losing the referendum to the working class." Nice try!
1
"don’t you understand that Mogg is defending the people’s vote to leave the EU" Mogg is using that to get what he wants. It's to his financial advantage too. I denounce you as a traitor. Therefore you are.
1
@IssacharGR And perhaps you scream "traitor" like someone who can't reason well.
1
@IssacharGR "so you can read minds!...and thus accuse two people that you don’t know of being traitors" That's a stupid claim. You scream "traitor" because you can't reason well. You can't. You lack the brainpower. "but if all you can do is insult me" I'm pointing out that you cannot reason well. I haven't insulted you. You will know if I choose to.
1
@IssacharGR "M R ... to conclude that Mogg is a traitor is an insult to him" Fascinating stuff, but nobody on this thread said that. "to accuse me of the same is also insulting...and based on what?" Based on me using your own deficient reasoning to illustrate that it is deficient. You finally see the error in your original post. You got there eventually. "you might notice that you present No reasoned argument...for anything...just accusation" That's absolutely untrue, and that's frankly an odd claim to make several posts in. Are you lashing out? "Sir can I suggest that you that you are slower to judge" You are judging here with madcap accusations about people being traitors and weird claims that I have "No reasoned argument...for anything". "I would be have been fascinated to hear why Mogg is a traitor...did you have anything to back this up?" I never made that claim. Seriously ... its like you suddenly can't grasp this thread at all! I think you know I am right and are now lashing out instead of just admitting you were wrong.
1
@IssacharGR "the reference to traitor came from the video" You've realised it's not me. "I believe you defined me as a traitor...a silly assertion." Of course - to illustrate that your assertion that someone was a traitor was you being silly. "whose position is most loyal to GB?" Irrelevant. "Many remainer folk put EU law and EU governmental control over that of the sovereign nation..." No. The point of the EU is convergence - so we - the UK - has agreed to converge. "its a betrayal of democracy" No. "Perhaps I might read your mind" You cannot read minds.
1
You're reading too much into that word for your own propaganda.
1
@jordanpemberton5124 How? By reading too much into that word. I told you how.
1
"Coups are illegal not democratic. Channel 4 news is putrid fake news" If you want to play the pedant game, this is not "fake" or "putrid". You are fake views.
1
@compendioussuccient6784 "when you’re not saying anything" That's not true - much like your first comment. I'm bored with people making false claims like yours.
1
@compendioussuccient6784 It beats being a fake.
1
@compendioussuccient6784 I thought so too.
1
It turned into Brexit means Brexit but not the one that you personally want!
1
Then stick to the news that tells you that you should use catcalls like "remoaners". You'll be happy, sort of.
1
@Andrew-is7rs "Yawn...." Get back to me when you are awake enough to think as well as to do your kiddie catcalls. I've never heard anyone call anyone else a "Draw bridge". Is that rude in your house?
1
"You are not respecting the referendum" That doesn't work very well any more!
1
Another pretendy Brit! Where are you really from?
1
Deliberately misleading post there! You know full well why the word is used!
1
You were warned not to believe what the Brexit campaigners were telling you.
1
@RetroGamesBoy78 "nobody could have foreseen this mess" But people did. I made the observation in July 2016 that whatever happened, millions of Brexit voters would be deeply unhappy. "This is what you get when you get an EU remainer to do the job of a leaver." Nice try.
1
That's why you got this proposed deal. You helped make this crock.
1
@misterm1336 "I do not and will not accept the dictatorship of the EU." It's not a dictatorship. It's unfortunate that you cannot accept reality. "I like to think for myself" I like to cook for myself, but it doesn't mean I have a talent for it.
1
"Eu tested and proven tactic." No. That's not true.
1
Hag? You have issues with women as well as all non-white people and Jews?
1
@jameswhiteley6843 "oh so only men can spoken about in a derogatory way?" Nice try! "Again, proving yourself to be an absolute imbecile." That is merely proof you invent strawmen! Women issues too? You sound all triggered. More so than usual.
1
@jameswhiteley6843 "@M R I think a lot of women out there would be offended that you think Theresa May represents all women." Good strawman, James! " As a gay man, I can't say I have women issues at all, Schlomo." Awww. I said you were all triggered and you are! See - the snarling human dogshit racist is back! You have some real issues. Mr Triggered!
1
@jameswhiteley6843 "M R but please, enlighten me." I can't until you choose to stop the human dogshit act you do. Mr Triggered and all his little issues!
1
@jameswhiteley6843 "triggered?" Yeah. Triggered! "Perhaps that’s why you feel the need to comment on everything I write?" I don't. Mr Triggered. So many things set you off! Women too!
1
That's a masterclass in what misdirection can do to a member of the public.
1
@darlandbanks7823 I do know. You even repeat the tropes that clever people get paid to write so you can parrot them back as your own thoughts.
1
That's lame.
1
What nonsense.
1
"WE WILL NEVER BE PART OF THE EU ! " Yet the UK currently is.
1
You'll need to explain that if you want people to understand you.
1
Has anyone else noticed a pattern here? Politicians who back a hard Brexit get low public approval rates! None of them are serious contenders and none of them are likely to win a leadership contest in a vote where other Conservative MPs are the voters. Brexit is a crock that taints people.
1
Is it a sticky biscuit?
1
In that case, it's easy. They go soft in water. Yeah - I fell in a river once holding one. Still edible, but rather soft.
1
He's not even the real upper class. A wannabe who invented that affected accent he uses.
1
No. The only people who buy into Rees-Mogg making anyone look stupid are the lowbrow people who watch the lowbrow vids where Rees-Mogg DESTROYS feminism or Rees-Mogg SCHOOLS a liberal. Frankly, he acts the clever guy to people who don't know any clever people. He's not that clever, and he's peddles muddle-headed themes for people who can't thin them up themselves.
1
The key word being represent. That does not mean do what you personally want. "fake arguments" You have fake views. See - easy.
