  16. This was mentioned before the referendum and was screamed down by people as 'scaremongering'. The pound dropped by about 12% in the summer of 2016, and by the autumn, UK gas bills had risen by about that amount because gas isn't traded in sterling. So, yeah, (some) pensioners could be screwed.
