@lumpy3408 I am sorry, but that is untrue, I served over 10 years in the army in the 70 & 80s, I unfortunately met too many mercenaries for my liking, back then there were several magazines you could get, probably most notorious was S.O.F. many ex forces found so called work through them, now days, 'mercenaries' is a kind of hush hush word, & so PMC's was created to make it all sound so much more acceptable, Constellis group, Blackwater, Wagner, MVM, Aegis, Gardaworld, Erinys, all classified as PMCs, that take part in active combat, if something goes wrong, the country that hire them can just wash their hands. I am not disputing there are charities that do, do good work like mine clearance, munitions dismantling, but big name pmcs are mainly there in a combat role

@lumpy3408 by 89 SOF was not allowed to openly recruit, they did still do it, but it was by adverts that the person concerned had to know what to look for, despicable printing, I'm sorry if I offended you, but when I see those letters PMC, I get triggered, I would not have liked them watching my back, & killing for money & personal gain, no morals, stay safe

@lumpy3408 it is good when someone puts their previous skills to a good cause like saving endangered creatures, rather than going for blood money. I returned to my birth country in 97-99, not for money but to help family & friends, 10 years before, I never thought I would pick up a weapon again, but it was necessary, I am retired now & my wife & I help animals, we have two rescue dogs 15 cats that live in our barn & two horses which we saved from maltreatment, life is quiet now, but this ukraine situation threatens all of Europe, America & Britain need to go home & stop helping to escalate what could turn into WWIII
