  1. I got into space flight when I was four months old... the month that Korolev launched Sputnik One. I was four years old when humans first went into orbit. My bluecollar parents made me watch every launch on television and they read National Geographic stories about NASA missions until I was able to read them myself. I watched every moonwalk and all the major Shuttle missions including the Challenger explosion. Now that I'm retired, ironically, I work as a volunteer media producer for the Astronaut Ron McNair museum in South Carolina. Although I will never fly, space flight will always be incredibly important to me.
