  1. I grew up in plaqueemines parish too but my mom was from Lafayette where she was related to everyone and my dad was from Mississippi. So I look a little norman with an English last name. But my maternal grandparents were 3rd cousins. My cousins are all healthy bu me I haven't died but one night a first cousin fell asleep and didn't wake up and he looked like the healthiest of the bunch

In south Louisiana the catholic church said you can marry you 5 th cousin well you need a genealogist for that but it was so hard to find that and then the church said you can't marry your 3rd cousin and that was enshrined in state law it was still hard but my maternal gene parents were third cousins and the catholic church considered it in a case by case basis. In myself I have weird problems with maintaining RBC Skype attend and probably a few others and in doing genealogy I am shocked at the number of cousin marriages and in law marriages over several generation
