  1. 1:50 yes, Palestine wasn't a nation state at the start of the 1900's. But also Germany wasn't a nation state until 1870, Australia in 1901 and there are many similar examples. It seems like people ignore the fact that the dominance of the nation state is relatively very new in human history and came out of the delegitimising of empires because they benefitted the few and not the many. The Palestinian state has been blocked by external forces (near and far) at every turn. If Zionism had never existed, there is good argument that neighbouring arab powers would taken over the area and prevented an independent Palestinian state, but this would still not be the fault of the Palestinians.
