💯 seeking the truth is the opposite of cowardly, of course the stupidity shines through when the bullshitters can't even get their insults right.

14:33 Of course Netanyahu's 70% claim is over inflated exaggeration for the benefit of influencing the public narrative (especially domestically). From more trustworthy sources I have heard 20% of Hamas fighters killed, but as Preston points out an accurate figure is extremely hard to work out. Without a negotiated settlement this war will drag on, to the detriment of most.

@purple-25377 practically a 50/50 chance Trump will be leader of America come next January and he doesn't have a plan for a war that the US has/is/will be heavily involved in is crazy and hard to believe. More likely he's just been sufficiently vague publicly about his plans for a number of reasons, the chief one being he doesn't want to upset any of his voters on what can be a divisive issue among. Probably the politically smarter way for him to be.

@ianswayne7296 I have seen numerous reports that settler violence has increased since October 7th. And the purpose of Settler violence is largely to take more land through intimidation. So based on this I would say it's a definite yes. As the settler population has grown (around 400 000 today), so has the violence against Palestinians, especially in the last few decades. It can be traced back to the '67 war and the subsequent occupation of the Westbank, when the settler movement got going. Of course it needs to be said that plenty of settlers have been murdered by Palestinians, although the presence of the IDF to protect settlers from violence limits this to an extent (but often not protecting Palestinians in the reverse, there was viral footage soon after 10/7 of a settler shooting a Palestinian while a soldier watched). There's a really interesting Israeli doco on the Settler movement that explains a lot and is worth checking out. It is called 'The Settlers' and I found it on the YouTube channel 'Best Documentary'.https://youtu.be/prqtXMSdeUw?si=zokMUQ3wlCEdMKZ4

5:38 any misses could easily be edited out, no? Pure propaganda combined with a little training.

24:02 Haven't seen any reports lately of Houthi targets being struck. Did the US & UK stop?

19:43 I wouldn't be surprised if elections were held after the war was over and a good alternate candidate/s for President stood forward, Zelinsky would be happy not to run.

Disagree. Having cabinet ministers like Smotrich and Ben-Gvir definitely creates more hate and division leading to violence. If Yitzhak Rabin hadn't been assassinated by a far right extremist terrorist, the chances of Israel being more secure would be far higher.

@nicolasolton No he didn't.

@bobduncan4720 also have been watching videos daily. I just go straight to my subscription tab and click straight on to Preston's channel if I haven't seen the latest thumbnail in my feed as Preston seems to upload practically daily.

Appreciate the work ethic, daily videos have kept me informed.👍

The video is still up, glad to see, it's a good one. Only became aware of your work since the Israeli Hamas war and noticed you used to do your own podcasts. Any plans to do more?

17:16 polls including the not sure/I don't know into either the yes or no totals is some dodgy statistics/polling. Completely defeats the purpose of doing it in the first place, unless the point is to twist the narrative - dodgy as. Good pollers avoid damaging their brand, although there are many smaller poll problems that can be harder to deal with.

@PrestonStewart haven't heard that specific claim, but there have certainly been other claims. I am interested if you think it's worth talking about the reports on rogue social media posts by IDF soldiers from within Gaza that seem very problematic. Saw a report in the British press about English-Israeli reservist causing a scandal and a more recent NYT article on multiple Israeli soldiers social media posts. I'm not sure on the veracity, seriousness or importance of this but as it relates to parts of war that exist today in ways that didn't exist before (you may have even spoke on this with regards to the war in Ukraine). And also potential relevance to the UN ICJ directing Israel to take action against potential incitement of genocide.

10:11 I get almost all of my news through YouTube from both independent creators that have built some trust and some Mainstream media with a healthy dose of scepticism. Maybe because of this I was already aware that a ceasefire on current lines with Russia taking more than 20% of Ukraine, could easily be spun by Putin into a victory and can only be seen as a loss for Ukraine. Also aware that this doesn't guarantee peace and emboldens Putin in the future. Understand your frustration, the only solution I see is people developing information literacy and having multiple sources so they are not prey to the flaws of having only one source for their news.

@wurstelei1356 my understanding is the settlements were a base for Isis aligned Sinai terrorists that had been attacking the Egyptian state and Egypt destroyed the settlements for their own security reasons, completely separate to Gaza and Israel according to Egyptian spokespersons.
