  1. As an Australian, thanks for covering this topic. The fact that Indonesia is one of our closest neighbours and is approx 10 times our size in population means what happens domestically there is important and should never be ignored. West Papuan rights abuses by Indonesian military has long been troubling, but the increase in violence by separatists on other locals and innocent parties is a bad trend. Part of the blame for this has to be levelled at the Indonesian military (corruption, violence on protesters etc), as well as those directly responsible for the violence.
