Definitely don't agree with all of McCain's conservative politics, but surviving 5 yrs as a North Vietnamese POW and return to succeed and rise to the top of the GOP as a presidential nominee late in his life is true grit, courage and heroism. Even more so when compared to real loser, draft dodging Bone Spur Trump who fits perfectly into the narrative of CCR's "Fortunate Son" song. The 2008 video of a McCain town hall where he corrected, talked down and brought reason to setting straight an older lady falsely stating that because Obama was a Muslim (blatantly false), she didn't trust him, showed a level of decency that is completely alien to Trump.

I fully understand your caution though, which is much more a positive than the far too early victory party the GOP did at the RNC.

As someone who has found Trump abhorrent from the start and often wonders why anyone even half decent wouldn't automatically vote against the guy, (and am well aware of the significant flaws in the democratic party) it's really interesting to hear from these swing voters who come across as obviously decent people. As a non American, Australian who sometimes feels like we're becoming America's 51st State or new Territory,(American culture and politics is incorporated here a lot), please Americans don't make the world suffer another 4 years (or more) of Trump's chaos.

  46. Bill had a good point on vaccines. RFK jr is not just anti COVID vaccine, but all vaccines (look up what he did with Somoa and the MMR[Measles, Mumps & Rubella] vaccine). Only the really brain wormed don't want to legitimately protect their children from Measles etc outbreaks, and RFK jr will push very hard from inside the Trump administration to limit the use of all vaccines as much as he possibly can.
