Another great guest, explains complicated concepts with skill making them easier to understand for those of us with much more basic knowledge. Appreciate your work Lex, keep it up! 👏

Another great choice of guest, still killing it Lex

Not big fans of either but this was good example of debate compared with what we usually see in public discours. After seeing Shapiro's recent feature on a MAGA rap song video, I had to try to completely block it out to take him seriously at all. The song was a complete grift and Ben does himself a disservice by being part of such BS.

Those who don't learn from the mistakes of history are doomed to repeat them.

Well said Lex about the Russian autocracy suffocating the country. Russia is largest country by landmass, one of the richest in natural resources, large population, but economy is small by comparison probably because it's growth is suffocated by massive corruption etc.

17:40 Lex "... Freedom..." Kotkin " Institutions ... " . Strong and healthy institutions provide trust which is the glue that will keep our civilisation/society together into the future. Yuval Harari made this point with Sam Harris on Sam's Ukraine invasion podcast with Yuval. Weak and failing institutions will fail to stop the erosion of trust surely leading to the collapse of society.

@macisback9059 so your saying if women's beach volleyball came on the TV you would immediately turn off? 😉😄

@evbbjones7 heard plenty of what Tate has said, the self improvement is a thin veneer of legitimacy to his con of making money. The negatives far outweigh the positives and the positives are easy to find for free if someone is genuinely looking for them and their upbringing was lacking.

Lex said the words Kanye Ye needs to hear. Also can't help think when Ye complains about his treatment over the last 20 years. It's a hard nock life for a world renown artist who was worth 2 billion(still worth 400 million after Adidas dropped him). Narcissism is the poison that will kill us if we let it.

Very important discussion, how to separate criticism of Israel from real anti-Semitism, similar to separating criticism of Islamic extremism from Islamophobia. The answer must surely involve healthy, detailed, empathetic discussions but as we all know these don't get headlines, clicks, engagement as much as they need to.

Aaron Swartz had the potential to be a great human being with enormous positive impacts on modern society (arguably it was inevitable), who was cut down by powerful status quo forces too soon to the detriment of most of society (especially the powerless). May he rest in peace and his story never be forgotten.

In the last decade America's life expectancy has gone backwards and infant mortality has gone up for the first time in the last century. There are many indications that western society may have already peaked and the current/future dilemmas of climate change, upheaval from radical technological change etc may accelerate a decline. Either way we will find out sooner rather than later it seems like.

@BobBob-yf3zo he chose to move his business to Romania, and being from the UK, Tate would've been well aware the system there is not as solid (Tate said that was a reason he moved there). So he made his bed and he'll have to lay in it, doubtful they'll back down now.

There's a little bit of Russian bot in this comment section.

To appreciate happiness/joy thoroughly, sadness/grief need to be experienced. Perspective is key. How do you know something is easy if you've never done anything hard?

Sounds like Lex is as much of a coffee addict as me😊. Going without my late afternoon coffee even though my first is before 6am is hard to imagine. Great to hear more science about the health benefits, was a recent study on the benefits of coffee preventing dementia.

@GG-yy4yx pretty sure when they say ethnic Russian there talking about the large numbers of Russians who migrated (by choice and forced) to other Soviet Union countries such as

Yes Lex, definitely agree about Wikipedia, truely is a great website.

Elon's statements here seem like common sense to me, it's what the above reply from the political science guy says about politicians and serving alliances etc or get shut out of the system that complicates the issue geopolitically (Jeremy Corbyn in the UK is a good example, could be argued he lost the leadership of the Labour Party in 2019 because of his criticism of the Israeli government and advocacy for Palestinians).

@everythingwillbeokkkk 9th most populous country in the world, over 145 million people. Not a large population?

I know he's talking about extremes of climate alarmism, but human extinction in 12 years from now? No one is really saying that?
2
What didn't you see the footage? Deep fakes aren't that good yet
2
Right on. Coffeezilla did a video on these Amozon crypto products that these bots are spamming about, and no surprise they link to a dodgy fake crypto YouTube channel that is a copy of a legit channel that has nothing to do with an official Amazon company. I'll see if I can find the link to Coffeezilla's video. Found the video about these "Amazon" crypto bots : https://youtu.be/Irh3ct6CFh0. The title of the video is a joke, explains in the vid.

Ukraine during the time the Soviet Union existed up until it collapsed in the early 90's.

@GG-yy4yx sorry pressed send too early by mistake, was meant to be one reply message! 🥴
2
@GG-yy4yx yeah partly also probably to save his own neck, if a democracy can exist next door Putin would be paranoid Russians wanting the same thing and he could lose his support and be kicked out of office and most likely end up in jail for all his corruption, they say he's got billions hidden and stashed with accomplices.
2
Straight up grifter. Doesn't like rap music but will do it for money and the culture war. Hypocrite yet again.

@Alex_89S Pretty safe to say his knowledge on Russia and Eastern Europe surpasses anyone in this comment section. But feel free to live in ignorance, it maybe your loss but it is your right!

Thought I could watch this, but cannot listen to Ye's bullshit any longer. Props to Lex, he's a better man than me.

Coincidentally just watched recently Brian Cox doco series which explained how Gaia space telescope recorded direction and speed of the stars in our galaxy to make a 3D map. This allows a simulation to reverse in time to show what the Milky Way looked like in the past revealing a collision with nearby smaller galaxy on two separate occasions. Is amazing what we can now do with the latest technology such as space telescopes and AI.

@170kmkitsune7 depressingly the chances of that happening have increased

Powerful story.

I have had a dengue fever myself, not pleasant. If we can use Crisper to eradicate one species of mosquito (other species of mosquito that don't carry the dengue virus will fill the ecological gap) definitely should happen.

Weinstein was already a controversial figure before lab leak theory, probably why he went hard on it. No longer an academic I think, so he has chosen to make a living selling books, getting views etc so pays to be controversial

"Alex Jones is right more than he is wrong" and "Alex Jones is often full of shit" can't be both can he?

@1247.cccccc the words in quotes were Joe's and Lex's, not mine

The fact that Lex is dedicated to a balanced and informed perspective on this issue should mean he deserves a safe and hassle free return to his ancestral lands. Doing great work and keeps getting better 👏👍

@Twiggy the lizard They surveyed the Russian speaking Ukrainian's (who are in many different parts of the country, not just in the Donbas) after the invasion started, and the majority changed there minds to approving of Zelensky over Putin. No wonder when Putin unleashed airstrikes, artillery, tanks etc on them.
1
Feel sorry you hear it that way, your missing out on some great interviews and topics
1
Maybe Stone wasn't dead wrong, but he certainly seemed to be exaggerating some things and omitting other facts, lacking proof on certain claims and definitely came across as biased to Putin's side. One example, he said Putin enjoys majority support but neglected to mention state sanctioned media propaganda (what little independent media has been shut down since invasion of Ukraine), rigged elections and dissenting voices have been either assassinated/imprisoned or exiled (journalists, politicians, business and media leaders). The average Russian doesn't have much choice but to support if they want to lead hassle free life.

Bolsanaro's oversized contribution to the destruction of the Amazon is one of his biggest crimes and tragedies. Greed continues to bite humanity on the ass.

It's refreshing
