  1. Coincidentally just watched recently Brian Cox doco series which explained how Gaia space telescope recorded direction and speed of the stars in our galaxy to make a 3D map. This allows a simulation to reverse in time to show what the Milky Way looked like in the past revealing a collision with nearby smaller galaxy on two separate occasions. Is amazing what we can now do with the latest technology such as space telescopes and AI.
