  1. the value of C is a convention, it's just the ratio of time to space and is often set to 1 in theoretical physics for convenience (kind of breaks his narrative realising this). C being the same in all directions is not a convention, its connected with the symmetries that define space-time. We can measure C in any experimental result where the other constants are known, to say it is just a convention is misleading.
