but on point. The significance of Penrose's perspective is vastly under appreciated by the modern physics community, possibly because of its bizarre and totally illogical faith that fundamental physics is more likely accessible via high energy physics. I have a degree in the subject so neither expert nor layman, but I have read extensively in English and maths everything I could find to justify this belief and so far I have only found poorly constructed Sophistry.

This was a stunning conversation on many levels. To me, it elucidated the thing which blocks Penrose from mainstream acceptance which paradoxically is a widely shared axiomatic belief that mathematics exists and is somehow real independent of human consciousness. It seems quite clear to me that all the apparent paradoxes trace back to this root.

@leep1667 is that entire extent of thinking you're able to achieve on this deep philosophical topic which has been debated for millenia with no resolution yet? Or for you it's just a stupid question or one side is just stupid so "lol" is what you think? How vacuous must your understanding be for you to read that and make the choice to respond with "lol"? Don't you realise if you give no response or a meaningful response then that indicates the possibility that your brain is functioning usefully, and otherwise the evidence is that your thought processes harbour deep absurdity where on the one hand you think you have understanding and yet when it comes to the actual reality of what your brain actually produces in response to intelligent stimuli, it chooses to come out with a word intended to state you think my thoughts ridiculous and yet there's no flaw of logic and there are thousands of years of philosophers and mathematicians still up to the present day who can see that is anything but something ridiculous. Long story short, check your assumptions, because it appears to be impossible for you to be intelligent and honest and respond lol. You responded lol, so that variable is fixed... its up to you to pick which of the other two you need to fix so that your brain can start doing useful processing in relation to deeper questions about maths. It's not all about learning symbols and formulas, one day you'll learn there's actual understanding to be gained too.

Cana Biss That's not logic at all - let alone mine, that's a bizarre paradox which makes no sense whatsoever from my perspective. I strongly suspect its got more to do with you arguing ex-falso (but not knowing where the contradictions you've induced are).
