Nice, but so naive. Capitalism also has the poorest peasants, Somalia is even more capitalist than America. What he did, like most Americans, is attribute how good things are for him to being capitalist, instead of attributing richness to being a citizen of the global hegemonic super power. The Romans could've said their system has the richest peasants because they had very few rights! It's a shame humans tend to attribute success where they want to instead of where logic allows (or would allow if most people were able to process it).

@karencarter8292 Yes, capitalism thrives when a culture is endemically selfish and narcissistic; it goes hand in hand with our western stage-show democracies for that reason. Cultures antithetical to that, for example Islam (which equates narcissistic behaviours with shaytaan), will be less suited and therefore less successful at that game. The question is probably moot though, as that whole system seems to be in its death throws.

@deborahdean8867 Pure capitalism is anarchic lawlessness. Obviously it has to be watered down with a legal system and therefore a state which is strong enough to control the markets is needed for it to "work" ... when Capitalism is "working" it only increases the oppression of those at the bottom for the sake of the endless mindless soulless hunger at the top of the food chain.

@hy-gradebill5768 I can tell you're not really familiar with mathematical economics. If you understood the maths, you'd know how far the simplification are from reality, which is why it's predictions are either self-fulfilling or wrong. You spent your childhood being indoctrinated to be impressed by and submit to authority. Coming out of that can be a tough journey. The mathematics, if anything, says to leave it all alone, because believing you know how cause an effect will work out in a complex non-linear system is utterly delusional. Economics is a confidence trick used to perpetuate a system where all endeavour passed by a trough all the pigs have their snouts in. The amount of faith you put in it measures how far you've been misled about human value exchange mechanisms and equilibrium.

A nice alternative is to not imagine they understand the economy well enough to shape and intervene based on economic cause and effect. Moreover, any model which is used to both make up the story and justify itself is just an article of faith. Your appeal was to pick a poison, pick a preferable delusion. My answer is to recognise that thinking is delusional and take a different lens on society and trade altogether. Asking me to provide a better alternative model to pretend is scientific is like asking me to choose which implement of torture would be better when the fact it just untying us and letting us go is a perfectly valid preference. Mises' Human Action is the rambling of a deranged lunatic who is high on his arrogance borne from his Dunning-kruger affliction. It was a convenient religion to fund in the industrial revolution, and we're still suffering the consequences of their gambit.

As long as you're born into one of the tyrant countries, you have a chance; the rest of the world has to burn to give the people that chance. You're pushing a false set of choices; as if the 3 versions of tyrannical evil the Europeans came up with are the only options. That's just false; they were born by Europeans believing there was a great race of the races and whoever won would dominate mankind forever. That's not even an exaggeration, that's why history is as it is. There has never been a level playing field to compare approaches, America since 1776 has thrived on fomenting and waging warfare; blaming it's victims for the suffering they're in when the fact is they forced it as part of power games. The American system is utterly dysfunctional, and without constant pillaging of the world would afford its citizens poverty and civil war.
