@angelynakukwe9069 To get into a STEM subject at university without being good at maths you bash your head against it, cramming a bunch of formulas in your head, figure out which ones they want you to bust out for the exams, scoop up a high grade. You can get an A* without having any real idea of what mathematics is, what ot does, how it works, how to use it, what the statements really mean, and how to work with them beyond what has already been worked out. I know this to be true because I did exactly that, ditto for A levels.
All that good stuff, you need to very rapidly learn at university, usually by completely destroying and re-making mathematics from the ground up - almost nothing taught in schools is adequate or reliable enough for subjects that make genuine use of mathematics. That was a common experience among my peers when I studied Theoretical Physics.
It's not just the curriculum, but also the way the education system is calibrated and controlled, which mashes mathematics into a bewildering bunch of mantras which mostly teaches kids to hear and obey or else be generally regarded as stupid.
As someone who has spent his life thinking mathematically, studied Theoretical Physics, and have a personal library of hundreds of original maths books covering how teaching maths has changed over the last 200 years; I can confidently state that the way maths is structured and taught today is the worst that has ever been recorded in history, by such a long shot its in a whole different ballpark. In that, I include records of ways of teaching maths as far back as ancient times. I'm sure we could do worse, but it would be difficult to see how to do that. Even chopping out a random part of the curriculum would be an improvement at this point.
I really don't know how they've managed to make sure all decisions are made within a bubble of people a fraction of whom have a genuine appreciation of mathematics and how it interacts with people's minds.

5 things Mises should know about Praxeology

Hi, I think you misunderstood the intended audience and the argument. If he claims "modern science didn't know" and you refute it by hieroglyphs, you have some explaining to do. It was also simplified, and was not put forward in the form of an argument amenable to strict logical analysis - its content to invite people to think about these things and ask questions from people who know. Islam does not do dawah the same way westerners proselytise materialism.
Its akin to someone approaching you with cookies and you somehow being triggered and punching them out because you thought they came at you with a swing. If it were laid out and pitched at the philosopher level, it would likely have much more detail on the intent as to why it would be seen as a miracle.
The fact still remains those things were not collected in any single work. Also, the quran is a guide, its test is to remain not misguiding to all mankind and all times since Muhammed. So, you have refuted someone offering you cookies by punching them in the face, but not refuted whatbthe quran claims of itself or Islam claims of the quran's miracles.
I'm an ex atheist with a degree in theoretical physics. Please email physics.dawah at proton dot me, if you'd like to discuss privately and gain a better understanding of why the quran is so very very different from any other book made before it or thatvever could be made after it, even in principle. You can push me to arbitrary technical levels, we can even conduct arguments in symbolic logic and equations if you wish.
Peace be with you.

Your claim for multiverses just show up in the mathematics is no different from photons and electrons which just show up as integration kernels. They are also obviously, by the laws of quantum mechanics, not observable. Only projection operators on some Hilbert space have associated observations, but there you have an observation of some energy transfer. By your argument, belief in the existence of electrons is precisely equally as religious as the multiverse.
NB; I do not believe in multiverses either, but it has to be recognised that the entirety of quantum mechanics of particles is purely religious - rooted in neo-platonic formalism.
There is zero, and I repeat emphatically, absolutely zero evidence that particles exist, and all working theories are inconsistent with the existence of particles. That's why high energy physics is a doomed enterprise. I have a degree in theoretical physics, I'm aware of the Canon of experiments that apparently prove quantum theory. Not a single one has sufficient logical merit or mathematical rigor to be taken seriously. Not one.
The mathematical apparatus which was titled as a theory, is just an engineering tool. A mathematical black box. You don't have to use hilbert space to integrate the equations, so any interpretation relying on Hilbert space is laughably ridiculous.

This video is a huge projection. Platonic materialism does this to people's minds.
I have a degree in theoretical physics, but people like you turn your nose up at me because youre "more professional".
If you're a working physicists you know less about the real history of phsyics and how it came together than others outside.
Physicists are generally utterly immune to criticism of the fundamentals, as they put everything that is not in their institutions in the crackpot bucket. This is the exact same process from voiceless to priest to the veil that Platonism used - just on a grander scale than he envisioned.
Solvay conference turned physics into engineering. I don't know what youre working on, but its almost certainly actually engineering.
Tell me, how did Gibbs & Heaviside perform the miracle of "simplifying" 7 (or 20) quaternion field equations to 4 linear ones?! How did mickey mouse and Morley differentiate Maxwell's LORENTIAN aether from their "4th direction is time, as prophecied" hysteria of the 1900 to 1920s using their perpendicular detectors?!
If logical consistency is so important, why did the physics community flock to the path integral even though they knew it was mathematically inconsistent and therefore logically BS?
How did shoddy approximations using the Gibbs/Heaviside formalism become unshakeable founding experiments like the double slit to which everything else was re-adjusted?!
When Boltzmann was hell bent in finding atoms somehow in the continuity equation, he used generalised functions to put them in by hand - painting over all the topological holes he lost the information for with "all microstates are equally likely" bayesian paint?! Topologically what he did would leave around a bunch of discs and punctured spheres. What do we find when we apply it?! Fermions and bosons! Its a miracle!
No, its all self-fulfilling platonic philosophy which is utterly unable to see its own contradictions. Look at Hilbert space, banach spaces with some specific structure to mimic perturbation theory using fourier expansions. Hailed as a hero, yet the finite basis theorem it relies on is how logically sound? Lets see now, oh yeah it is the law that of Hilbert makes up a dichotomy it must be real. Gödel proved he can't assume its either true or false because he's dealing with an infinite logic - that proof came after solvay where Bohr slaughtered physics on the altar if pragmatism and made everyone engineers who believe the platonic myth that can onlybsurvive of one puts blind faith in Hilbert. Funny, Hilbert's finite basis theorem was correctly identified as theology so he got his buddy Klein to get his daddy to get it published and later push him out of the journal for it. Turned out after Hilber's death the 23rd problem in his desk that he didn't publish shows he knew all along his philosophy lacked a logical foundation. Gödel proved it false using Hilbert's own game and Hilbert accepted the result but did not admit he was utterly wrong in the claims he made about logic and geometry - all he did was re-write what was already known in formalism that he controlled the narrative fir using the Götingen gang (Sommerfeld, Born, Klein, et. al.)
Manipulative gaslighting ideological fanatic platonist made himself a hero by infecting mathematical proof with populism.
I have 700 books spanning 1800 to 1970 and the more evidence I have, the more I must be a crack-pot. Doesn't matter that I can do the maths, have the original evidences of the misunderstandings, and of the political and other forces acting on the development of physics which are totally ignored in all syllabuses.
But, I'm not a dedicant of Platonism, therefore I must be a crackpot and everything I know must be a stupid misunderstanding.

Mathematics is, I think you'll agree, the map and not the territory. You may not agree but must eventually, that the only working maps can be those which assume a continuous territory. And I mean that in the topological sense, rationals are a continuous space.
Do you agree that an affine space is continuous? If so, how do you justify your other comment that the universe may be signalling it is discreete? Can you see how it would be impossible to do the same with just an integer lattice - not using the notion ofnthe space between lattice points since distance again as a concept inherently includes continuity in the existence of positions from one position to another - if not, it could not move past the discontinuity.
If we don't have underlying continuity, we also don't have causal relationships, if we did, then on that space it would be continuously connected again.
Reality is fundamentally continuous, discreeteness has only ever been found in abstraction layers we've added onto continuous reality in order to make a finite picture in our brains.

@njwildberger Well, what it means is is, if the quantity computed by the computer is called a number, then if it continuously passes from 1 unit to 2 units, the whatever (continuously existing) physical state it is in is a computational representation of that "number". It doesn't blip out of existence everytime it encounters what our unit scale happens to regard as an irrational point.
If for you, numbers are by their very definition combinatorial, then you could not be satisfied really with any analogue computer, although they work.
If numbers are not actually fundamentally combinatorial, but those are merely a class of numbers, then it's perfectly reasonable to use any symbol & operation whose algebra is the same as that of a field, as a number.
Bottom line is, your computability criterion strictly applies to "universal" computers, which are ironically a subset of possible computers.
Every physical process is a computation, follows from Landau's principle.

@mitch C yes, but some more than others.
What made Caspian different before, was he presented the two sides of conflict based on what the two sides said and then looking at the relevant history and land/economy factors etc.
For this whole Ukraine thing, he's just totally taken the western line 100% hook, line, and sinker ... apparently having no idea whatsoever about what the Russians say, their history in this, what they see as the situation etc. etc.
Caspian has gone from trying to be fair to being absolutely blatantly totally and completely fully biased, simply parrotting narratives of one side. It's very sad.
I don't know if the emotions knocked out his reason, he's under threat, or he was only ever impartial as long as it got better views and it was always just about money ... I don't see many other options but I'd like to see him address his failures after the war.

@20-sideddice13 That's an article of faith, and proves the entire debate has gone over your head.
Recap, the debate is constructionist vs formalist. Formalists won control of institutions for a number of reasons, none of them logical. Now generations only know the formalise view point. Manufactured "consensus" by hiding the debate for generations.
All you're proving is a PhD might be well educated to be a cog in that machine, but is utterly ill-equipped to tackle questions about truth and the fundamentals of mathematics. It's seems clear that your PhD has in fact been a handicap for this kind of question.
The who bunch of garbage about the 5th postulate as if nobody thought of curved surfaces for a thousand years is just historically illiterate garbage which is pumped out as truth today, largely because it made Hilberts career with T axioms.
Tell me, is the Banach-Tarsky "Paradox" a "Paradox" or a proof by contradiction? When a formalist declares "I am unable to conjure a false dichotomy, if I propose a dichotomy, it's as valid as any other" - anyone else saying that would be obviously insane. But put fancy symbols round it and use political power to crush opponents careers, and Hilbert easily changed "Theology" to "The future of mathematics". Every win was by dirty politics using extraordinary clout and his cabal at Göttingen. Literally nothing was won by strength of logic. The opposite in fact. His whole program was so defeated he had to leech off physics to try to get some credibility. Yet another confidence trick worked.
Of course, the Victors wrote the history. I could go on, quaternions are another tragic example.
You have a lot to learn, having a PhD puts you on the first rung. Good luck.

@TheGreatAmphibian why do you think the freezing is good for movement? That certainly wasn't the case last year. Tank tracks impart more than enough energy to break solid ground into mush (especially their earth).
It would be an interesting speculation, but we saw it everywhere last year alll through the snow on any lines used more than once or twice so we pretty much know how it goes.
Agree there's not time to get nicely dug in, but I think they'd be able to get enough dug in, nothing like the lines to the south ofc.
They could do nothing, just sit it out. But that doesn't sit well with Maskirovka and what they built their structure around (moving/amorphous front lines and flipping the board when the game gets stuck).
NATO and Ukraine are struggling for arms and armour, Russia still has plenty. Our economies are tanking as the sanctions have massively backfired.
So, it could be in their interest to just keep this rolling but that's long term. More likely one massive push to take back that barely defensible strip up to Kharkiv so it can be handed back at the negotiating table.
Putin has so many options, Ukraine has no good options at all, and in the UK we're already pulling back from the knife edge, shutting Boris away, and forbidding certain anti-Russian statements from parliament.
The theatre of war really is a theatre, its just the crappest seats you can get to the show.

she was lied to. They had railways, ports, industry, farming.
Yeah, they didn't worry because they didn't expect western racial superiority lebensraum seeking pre-war germany influenced Zionism from Austria to actually take their land and claim it as their right!
But they certainly cared for their land, and their lives. Think how insane, evil, and dehumanising to think that these people - in contrast with all other humans, don't care about their homeland.
That kind of evil propaganda should've been left in the 1930s when it was invented.
If you've ever wondered how people went along with the 3rd Reich, why Hitler was Time Magazine man-of-the-year 1938, how could they support such awful oppression?! Now you know, you're one of them.

@shainazion4073 That's a very convenient lie you made about them. Tell me, how does a population live without houses? How did they have so many houses that were bombed and demolished if they were just migrant nomads? Whose were all those houses and farms then? What about the factories, the railway to Jaffa where the port was established for trade?
The idea that piece of land just had people floating in and out is utterly and totally insane. It only makes any sense at all to racist nationalists. So, I can deduce that you are a zionist.
Theodore Hertzel established racial superiority justified by the bible for the people of the Jewish "nation" (a heretical anti-orthodox invention), searching for Lebensraum and using any means necessary to disposess whoever was on the land they decided they had a right to take.
Backfired when Hitler thought "great idea, let's just change that to Aryan, and go right next door to Poland and Ukraine instead" but otherwise used the same evil Hertzel worked tirelessly towards spreading and legitimising.
The nazis fid come up with methods Herzel never thought of, but they were all imported fully by 1948. Israeli officials initially openly declared the 6 day war was a blitzkrieg to take land they felt entitled to, later changing the story at diplomats behest.
People wonder how so many went along with the 3rd Reich, now you know, you're literally jut like them on every meaningful way.

@user-iz9co4qf6z I'm Jewish Muslim, my birth mother was Belgian Jewish. I'll leave you to read up what happened to them. It's my father's side that goes back to the domesday books in England.
The "Jewish state" was established by Irgun terrorism in 1948 on the basis of extant ethnic cleansing the locals being extended as far as they can, with the aim of "purifying" the land from the river to the sea.
Moreover, they didn't care about the Torah, you just had to be Jewish by birth. Its literally a genocidal racial superiority state which used (literally, historically, not hyperbole) the same ideological basis as Nazism - developed by non-religious Austrian Thodore Hertzel in 1880s, published Judenstaat in 1897. It used racial superiority and a dodgy reading of bible/archeology to justify taking lebensraum from "inferior" people. Hitler (born of that Austrian melting pot) switched the race from Hebrew to Arian, the land targeted, and the flag.
Using the Holocaust to justify crating the world's largest concentration camp (gaza) is too twisted to reason with. Look up Norman Finklestein's absolute shut down of that horrific and disgusting misuse of the European crimes against the Jews to justify making the Arabs pay the price.
If you weren't so unbelievably ignorant of the history you're judging, you'd make yourself sick at what you're saying.

@janniknielsen9292 you likening the people of gaza to a virus has outed you as evil racist scum.
IDF knows for a fact Hamas is in the tunnels and unaffected by their bombs. Almost every casualty has been a civilian, and that was a point. Israel si predicated on genocide.
Theodore Herzel, and Austrian (same as Hitler) invented using biblical justification for being an ethnically superior race who deserves to take lebensraum by force from inferior people.
Hitler changed who was superior and applied lebensraum to his neighbours with farm land. Zionists then used ALMOST ALL that had been done to them (displacement, no return, disposession, slaughter, checkpoints, 2 tiers, etc.), against the locals, with the addition of what is now called terrorist bombing (e.g
King David hotel).
The 6 day war was launched by Israel knowing their neighbours could not mount a genuine threat (admitted in interviews, on record)... they used a pre-emptive blitzkrieg, just as Hitler did, and justified it I the same way.
People wonder how so many went along with the 3rd Reich, even though Hitler was Time Magazine man-of-the-year 1938! Well, now you know how people supported the nazis because of propaganda despite the evident cruelty... you're one of them. You've proved beyond reasonable doubt that if you had been born in Germany at that time you would've been a paid up member of the nazi party.

@d-mancat537 It's not axiom, and it's not a proven theorem. It's not true at all and his comment was complete garbage end-to-end.
It would OBVIOUSLY only be true for a system with absolutely no constraints at all whatsoever of any kind. As soon as there's a single constraint (as with any analysable system, real or ideal), obviously there become unreachable states in phase space. IE, things that don't happen.
That literally mathematically illiterate codswallop about extending the idea of infinite monkeys to anything comes from popular science books. Even then, the infinite monkeys have to live infinitely long and never wear out their fingers or typewriters. But the same result comes from one monkey. Infinite monkeys in finite time may never produce anything longer than a few pages.
Finally, one can also say that e and pi and sqrt2 all contain all the works of Shakespeare back-to-back somewhere according to some encoding of letters as numbers (occurs as many times as there are encodings). Simultaneously contains the bible and everything else.
At that point, if you don't realise the whole game is utterly stupid, meaningless, and illogical, you shouldn't talk about maths yet. The valid/verified uses of infinity do not include such junk.

The Quran says:
"Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Come! Let me recite to you what your Lord has forbidden to you: do not associate others with Him ˹in worship˺. ˹Do not fail to˺ honour your parents. Do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for you and for them. Do not come near indecencies, openly or secretly. Do not take a ˹human˺ life—made sacred by Allah—except with ˹legal˺ right. This is what He has commanded you, so perhaps you will understand." 6:151
Without nationalism, there would be no way to associate those particular individuals he shot with guilt for swedens' role in fighting against Islam and muslims. Nationalism was born in France, it is alien to Islam.
"Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The first to be judged on the Day of Judgment is a man who was martyred. He will be brought and Allah will remind him of His favor [upon him], which he will recognize. Allah will say: 'What did you do as a token of gratitude for that favor?' He will say: 'I fought for Your sake until I was martyred.' Allah will say: 'You have lied. You fought so it would be said that you were brave, and it was said.' It will be commanded that he be dragged on his face until he is thrown in the Fire."
However, no muslim is able to judge that man; he could have been mentally ill or controlled/possessed for all we know. Certainly he was deceived by nationalism, but little else other than the deaths is clear. Allah knows best.

@MarvinT that's what people said about hypersonic missiles, then when they show them it's too late.
Compare that with the US F-35 "yeah, it'll totally work really well, we're really just about to make and ship loads of them ... uh ...
The US government has spent an entire generation gaslighting US people about what Russia is like and how it works. Gaslighting includes projecting your own failure on the other as you try to flip the script and twist things around so you're the hero and they're the villain.
The rest of the world sees the US being a dangerous infantile merciless brainless selfish violent beast, and this is a very well deserved assessment. Do you think that's just everyone being jealous of how great you are? America has been the best place to live because it used the petrodollar and its military to bully literally the whole world into submission. Not because of any kind of special skill, certainly not for the vapid fake morality the brainwashed think US has, but because the population was easily bought.
As the hegemony wanes, and Americans have to suddenly join a more level playing field, we'll see how well they survive.
Given the number of debt dollars bearing "In God We Trust", and yet the US has never trusted God, only ever used him for political gains ... the debt based inflation bomb the US made for itself is not just the largest in history, it has been accompanied by an extraordinary loss of morality and abuse of religion as a tool.
It will be sad watching the US rip itself apart, but better than watching what we've seen ever since 2001.

Its not the facts themselves that are wrong, its the shameless gaslighting using the facts.
Sure, they didn't think of themselves as separate from the other muslims and Jews, because it was one whole peaceful area until the British turned up and carved a portion of it calling it Palestine. So your use of it as argument as if they "weren't people" just because they weren't racial superiority nationalists searching for lebensraum and willing to use propaganda and blitzkrieg to achieve it. Its such an unbelievably sick argument, you making it with a straight face is terrifying.
Here's a FACT; Zionism first appeared with an Austrian Jew (Hertzel) whose beliefs were influenced by the same forces that gave us the 3rd reich.
Zionists are precisely equally as evil as the nazis, same ideology. Cut from the same cloth. Even using precisely the same tactics, tools, procedures. The principle differences are location, time, and flag.
The antisemitism was from Europe. The Zionists took that trauma and dumped it on the arabs and semites who had always offered safe refuge from European antisemitism.
(the local jews helped the local arabs fight off the invading zionists, btw. Look it up).

@AnotherRoof Hi, I have his works in 2 books; in arabic with some English commentary, and one mixed language Arabic and French with quite detailed translations to French. They are both rare, almost impossible to find, expensive, and not on pdf!
It's not your fault, it's a systemic failing due to "The Arabs" being synonymous with "Mystical barbaric enemy" during all the crucial development of the story of the history of mathematics.
I'm a complete geek on this topic, I have many hundreds of original books charting the real course of development of mathematics - although focussed on Enlightenment (in particular, how it's viewed and taught, and why Quaternions and constrictivists "lost" etc.)
My degree was in theoretical physics, but I didn't stay in the field. How can I contact you and show you these particular books? I'd love to have a proper geek out video chat about maths with you anyway tbh.
update: I submitted a message through your site.
