Just ignore the transmission and drive the car. DIYers should not be messing with transmissions. The factory transmission fluid will still be good on the vast majority of cars when they go to the junkyard.

@dacruz34 There is no combustion in the transmission or differential.

@paulcoenen7918 I max out my retirement accounts and still buy new cars. If you look at the depreciation and maintenance/repair curves you don’t save that much driving older cars. Not to mention older cars are functionally obsolete.

I appreciate the video. Unless the transmission temperature light comes on a lot, the fluid will outlast the rest of the transmission. Changing the fluid may cause slipping or hard shifts. I trust Toyota engineers. I’d never recommend anyone DIY this. This service needs to be done by a good transmission shop or dealer transmission tech.

@MusicConnoisseurian You are wrong, otherwise rental car companies would never buy new cars. School Buses would never get replaced. Police cars would never get replaced. I could go on and on.
