Going from 13mpg to 18mph in a larger, heavier, and faster car is a huge improvement. The 5.7 V8 had many issues when it came out.

@Triangle27. No, it was because the V6 was underpowered at low revs and service was complicated. The real world gas mileage in bumper to bumper traffic is a lot better.

They will have big discounts on these soon. They are not really in demand like the RAV4, Tacoma, and 4Runner.

@skoolynugenator1802 It’s an ok engine. It still suffers from cam tower leaks and occasional catastrophic failure for unknown reasons. It’s no 1GR, which is a perfect engine. The 2GR is underpowered at low revs and leaks oil.

I’m actually surprised that Toyota stayed with Body on Frame. With the Grand Highlander there isn’t really much point in having a Sequoia. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next Sequoia is a Grand Grand Highlander. The 7th Gen 4R will probably be based on the same unibody architecture with much more clearance, articulation, and approach/departure angles.
