  1. you do not have to be a catholic to be a christian . in fact chrisrtianity is a little different from catholicism which is really a power center that extended the Roman empire. Anyway, you can get closer to Christ in spirit, he is listening and wants to hear from each of us. you can speak / pray to Him and he will give you clarification and help in life. He is our liason to the Father , God. i hope you continue to grow spiritually, and you are to be commended for choosing Christ ! ( he raised me from death IN PERSON when i was a child- i met Him). many other denominations of Christianity will accept you and are at least as valid as cathlicisnm.
