  1. these royals and wealthy women had wet-nurses for thier babies. This meant that their own milk would dry up, MAKING IT EASY TO GET PREGNANT AGAIN. so instead of nursing them and thus spacing out thier babies that way, they had them really close together, thus, more of them; and did not have time to really recover after each one.
