The only way it will be possible is if we are able to advance at our current rate for at least another few hundred years. We will have to develop technology that will allow us to travel to mars and back fairly easily because we will have to make a lot of trips. First we would send robots to build all of the habitats and infrastructure which will require huge advancements in AI and robotics. Then we would have to send in people who would likely die shortly after but who knows. Point is Colonizing mars in dangerous and pointless. There is no benefit and nothing to be gained by do so. We have all the heavy metals we need in the millions of asteroids flying around our solar system. Mars will never be sufficient enough to replace Earth as our new home either. But i suppose colonizing mars could if nothing else serve as practice for colonizing other planets in far away systems.

Or nuclear power maybe. Solar power is great and if we can make significant advancements in solar panel technology that its a serious option. Even if we develop economically feasible nuclear fusion, solar power will still have a place as a supplemental power source. But solar power will never get to the point where we will be able to depend on it 100%. First as you said it only works half the time, so we can build battery backups but that gets expensive very fast. But also you have to consider the shear amount of land you have to cover with solar panels just to get enough power. In a country like Australia where 90% of the land is uninhabitable, it could work. Australia only has enough habitable land to support maybe 50 million people or about double their current population. So that means they have more than 2 million sq miles of land to cover with solar panels. But what about a country like say Belgium? Not going to happen.

I dislike math so I accept that math is not a real thing and rather a stupid concept created by nerds. This also invalidates my past failures in math related courses. Take that school.

What we need is more socialism to a degree, but importantly more of the RIGHT KIND of socialism. That means none of these exploitable social programs like welfare that incentivises people to be lazy and remain unemployed. The biggest problem in modern America is that the government and economy are run by the same people. CEO's become politicians in other words. That is what you call a conflict of interests. I've worked jobs where they would not let a someone work there if their relative was in management. But yet we let CEO's run the government which is responsible for keeping the corporations in check? We need a reform that has strict laws that force anyone in office to cut all ties with any sort of business. Think of it as being similar to separation of church and state. The government keeps the corporations in check and the people keep the government in check, checks and balances. Politicians would be constantly kept in check by a citizen run organization that would sniff out corruption. They would investigate bribes or other cases of corporations interfering with government. This would require a high degree of transparency and citizens would be given access to almost all government documents. Certain sensitive documents that could be related to national security would still be kept secret. Something that they do in Germany is every year they give you a report that lists all of the government spending so that you can see exactly where your tax dollars are being spent. Why don't we do that here?

Step 1: set up temporary subterranean colonies. Step 2: build magnetic field generators to cover the surface of Mars. Step 3: siphon off gasses from the atmospheres of Venus and Jupiter. Bring those gases to Mars and begin building an atmosphere until you achieve 1 atm or higher. It would likely be very carbon dioxide rich at first. Step 4: collect comets from the asteroid belt and bring them to Mars. Melt them to begin building oceans to an adequate depth. Step 5: introduce cyanobacteria to begin converting the carbon gases to oxygen. Step 6: introduce simple marine organisms to the oceans and desert plants to the land. Step 7: after topsoil begins to form in the wetter regions introduce larger and more complex plants. Continue this until proliferation is adequate to establish a food chain at which point you introduce small herbavoirs.

Capitalism is far from perfect, but what's the alternative? Give all your money to the government so they can "redistribute" it? You know that's been tried in over a dozen countries and every time the government just keeps the money. Socialism would only work in a perfect world where everyone is completely selfless. Until that happens we're stuck with capitalism. We just have to "renovate" the system every hundred years or so. By renovate I mean tear it down and rebuild it. But it's better that being a slave to socialism.

@Johncornwell103 Thats been an idea i have had for a long time. In such a system employees would be given stock in the company that they work for. Instead of being paid a flat wage they would receive the dividends from the stock that they hold. This would motivate them to work harder so that the company does better because the size of their paycheck would directly correspond to the level of success achieved by the company. Not only that but of course if the company looses money than thats money that they loose as well. You share all of the profits but you also share all of the risk and debt. This would all have to be voluntary of course. It could not be forced on anyone, because thats communism.

@Johncornwell103 No its called Employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). Socialism/communism would be state ownership.

Climate change is real and is most likely man-made at least in part. The climate changes naturally and there are many things we still don't understand, but chances are that pollution is a contributing factor. But as you said in the video much of it is psychology and tribalism. Theres a lot of money to be made on both sides of the climate change fence. On the denial side you have the fossil fuel companies which can ignore any negative environmental impacts of humans in order to maximize profits. This is of course widely believed to have killed the electric car and is stunting the development of alternative energy technologies. On the believer side you have governments and alternative energy companies that can profit from the panic of climate change. So they create a panic and promise salvation through higher taxes such as the proposed "carbon tax" and stricter regulations. Then with all of this new revenue the politicians can keep it for themselves or give it to companies that have an invested interest in.

The only thing i know for sure is that we know almost nothing about anything.

Well lets try to focus on the positive. Some good can come out of this. If nothing else this shows how unprepared we are for any sort of outbreak like this. We need to be more proactive and we need to respond immediately when this starts to happen. The virus started in China and everyone didn't care about it. Would it not have made sense to ban travel to and from China immediately? Well even with doing that it can still reach us. Would it not make sense to ramp up testing to contain the virus as soon as it reaches us? What should have happened is we should have banned travel to and from China, then introduced mandatory testing to anyone entering the country. Yes i know this is a massive inconvenience but it would save thousands of lives. But say the virus still gets a foothold in America. Well obviously we should start with making people wear face masks and gloves when they go out in public as well as encouraging employers to make their employees stay home. Then if it continues to spread we take further actions to contain it. But as far as i can tell nothing has really changed other than all the stores are out of toilet paper. What is being done to contain this virus?

So in other words what goes up must come down and we don't question why it happens? Got it, I can do that.

Its important to note that the universe is made up of two things: matter/energy and space. The big bank theory only addresses the creation of matter/energy. We understand almost nothing about the fabric of space but we know its there and in fact makes up 99.99999999999% of the universe( not exact numbers of course). I think of space as a sort of ocean medium that everything exists within. It has fluid like properties and fills the void in between particles of matter. Now i don't know how this works but i have theorized about something i call aether particles. These aether particles are similar to matter but much much smaller and have no defined shape or mass. They are like little bags of sand that change shape to fill in voids. Think of it as one of those stone walls where the odd shaped stones are fitted in perfectly to leave no gaps. The aether particles do this with matter but also other aether particles. When they come into contact with a planet they first fill the gaps between atoms but there is only so much room so many are pushed outside the circumference of the planet. When this happens they compress and create resistance. This resistance is what creates gravity. Therefore the gravity of an object is determined by both the amount of aether particles displaced as well as the extent to which they are displaced. So an object like a Neutron star has low volume but is so dense that aether particles cannot penetrate and are thus displaced. Its just a theory but it amazes me how no one has tried to figure out what space is made of.

Hard times make people strong, strong people make good times, good times make people weak, and weak people make hard times. This is one of the main concepts the Strauss–Howe generational theory is built around. But really look it up, its very interesting. The history of this country is made up of cycles of ups and downs. About every 4 generations or 80 years the country goes through a cycle ending and beginning with a crisis. The last cycle ended with WW2 and thus began the current cycle. If you do the math we're getting pretty close to the end of the cycle which means a collapse is on the horizon. I'm not a doomsday weirdo but the evidence is pretty good, so its probably not a bad idea to stock up on some stuff. Especially toilet paper.

Chances are the hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and other light gasses that were released from the mantle and lower layers of the earth would have floated to the surface of the planet while it was molten and formed an atmosphere. After the earth started to cool and solidify the hydrogen could have begun forming gaseous water. Once the earth cooled further it would have formed liquid oceans. As you probably know when the earth first formed it was molten due to the heat generated from the repeated collisions of asteroids. This allowed the heavy elements to sink to the core and the lighter ones to rise to the top.
