  1. Ben is a smart guy no doubt. But he defends his rather idiotic views by talking fast and using eloquent language. Does he believe most of the things he says? No, he's like most people in his position. He sells an idea to a group of people who cannot think for themselves. When met with someone like Sam he cannot defend those views but most people are not smart enough to notice. He sells his lies knowing full well they are lies because at the end of the day he's a snake oil salesman.
