I've been a car guy my whole life. Honestly I'm over ICE. They're complicated, unreliable, dirty( pollution and things like oil), loud etc. Plus you have to wait for the engine to rev up to make power and you have to deal with that pesky transmission. For performance cars yes ICE is great but for daily drivers its just terrible. I want an EV but of course I can't afford one yet. Just imagine not having to constantly check the oil, transmission fluid, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid and all the other BS that comes with ICE. You get in the car and go. You put your foot down and it just goes. No waiting for the laggy transmission to downshift or for the engine to rev up. Hydrogen ICE may have a future in motorsports and performance cars but other than that ICE is dead. Whether the future is hydrogen fuel cell or battery EV I'm still unsure. Its going to be one the two though.

Say Toyota and Mazda develop the platform together. Mazda makes a new rotary powered RX while Toyota makes a straight 6 or V6 powered Supra. Toyota has two choices. They could either use Mazda's new straight 6 or they could use the Iforce V6 they have been using in their trucks. Mazda on the other hand could use the straight 6 or a new rotary engine. As much as I like the rotary I would rather see the straight 6. However if both the Supra and RX use the same engine its going to be a Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ situation. Which isn't the worst thing but I would like to see some difference between the 2. Maybe Mazda will make the RX lighter, smaller and more Miata like while the Supra will have more power and be more of a GT car. Either way it would be exciting to see Japan making sports cars again.
