It uses mostly BMW hardware, this much is true. The development teams split at the very beginning for the Z4 and the Supra. They are two totally separate vehicles that share hardware. I would have liked to see the new Supra be 100% Toyota but hey, BMW isn't known for making bad performance cars are they?

Inline 6 cylinders are the ideal engine configuration. Smooth, simple and very reliable. Throw on a a turbo and you have V8 power. Look at semi trucks, they have I6 engines and they last well over 1,000,000 miles hauling 80,000 lbs.

The only part of that I understood was it go zoom zoom real fast.
19
Oh no, an upset Tesla fanboy. That's never happened before..........
15
I know right, my cat always has gas.
12
Not the car they used to do the test run. They used a modified version of the Agera RS.
11
@Froggability Yeah its a joke. See where i said the world runs in reverse at below zero Kelvin? That should have been the giveaway.
10
Exactly nuclear is the clear winner. Yet if you ask anyone they'll tell you nuclear is bad. It's the only one that is clean, controllable and reliable.

First every time he's ever spoken and now this time? How shocking.
8
Plot twist: its neither, he was talking negative 40 Kelvin. Thats right its so cold in Antarctica that the world runs in reverse.

Lobbying has destroyed literally almost everything in America. From our city planning/infrastructure to our medical system. Well this is what those sociopathic libertarians wanted, a "free" country.
8
Yep, these unverified claims show how desperate Tesla is. The model 3 will be the death of them.
5
Meow.
4
Yep its just to get their stock up after the countless model 3 fuckups.
3
Sir this is America, it is zee-f not zed-f. Eat a hamburger, drink a beer, get a shotgun and shoot some holes in the side of someone else's barn. Get you 'Murica back boy.
3
Ford : our truck can pull over 1 million pounds. EE: hold my abacus

@dcheverie Correct. They say that to power the world with 100% solar at current consumption rates you would have to cover an area the size of the Sahara desert with solar panels. Does that seem logical or even possible? But lets also remember that most of the world consumes electricity at fairly low rates due to limited development. That number will double or triple as the population grows and more countries develop. But i don't need to convince you of this as it appears you are already on the nuclear train. Now we just need to get the public over their irrational fear of nuclear power which is no doubt perpetuated by the fossil fuel companies and those in bed with them(the government). Then we may begin building new Thorium molten salt reactors all over the world. Hopefully after that nuclear fusion will become the norm. Either way the future is nuclear, not solar and wind which are about as useful for generating electricity as hopes and dreams.

If it starts with a 0 it's no good. 85% of engine wear happens on startup. If the engine has been sitting the oil drains down leaving surfaces unprotected. A thicker oil won't necessarily help with that. However with new tech like start/stop and hybrids the engine be turning on and off and remain off many times throughout a drive. Every time the engine shuts off the oil starts to drain. Thinner oil will drain faster. The combination of hybrids and thin oil will be fatal.
2
Lets also remember that the Taycan's performance is repeatable whereas the Tesla's is not.

The future isn't electric. The future is electric AND combustion(most likely biofuels). Electric cars work for some people, but not everyone. If you are rich and can afford an electric car and a nice suburban house with a enclosed garage where you can mount a charger( most likely only in America where houses/properties are larger), and you don't need to regularly commute long distances than yes an electric car will work. The rich part is also kind of important because you're probably going to have a gasoline/biofuel car as well as backup. However if you're part of the other 95% then you will need a combustion engine car. Eventually we may have something like hydrogen fuel cell cars that will be practical enough for mainstream use, but until then we will need combustion. I'm not hating Tesla so please don't verbally assault me.
1
The problem is that everyone excuses tesla for this because they're a "cool" company. They should be held to the same standards as everyone else.
1
Haven't watched yet but i'm saying Ethanol/biodiesel derived from algae. I predict that combustion engine vehicles will be produced for another 30 years so its worth in investing in alternative fuels.

@TheThunderwars I doubt they would be able to make a teardrop shaped car (or any shape of car for that matter) that is both aerodynamic enough and street legal. Due to government regulations they have to have things like the head lights and bumpers at a certain height and width. Meaning the frontal surface area of the car has a certain legal minimum of which many of todays hypercars already reach. So until those safety regulations change (which if they do change it will be for the worse making cars of the future even less aerodynamic) the only way to achieve 300 mph will be by adding horsepower. At 250 mph its like trying to push the car through a viscous sludge like pudding, at 300 mph its like trying to push it through a soft solid like Jello. So it seems that it would require a minimum of 2000 HP to hit 300 mph.

So the real question is when is Chevy going to build a Silverado Raptor? Or are they just going to wait for the new EV Hummer? Who knows the new Hummer might beat both of them, well until it runs out of battery.
1
None of this matters because nobody who owns a Cybertruck knows what towing is.
1
@WordOnTheStreet_0 I'll be the first to admit i was wrong. We'll see how the Cybertruck works out for them. I still think they will go under eventually and be bought out by GM. They still can't even make cars that are well built or have any options. Try to configure a model 3. You have options for paint, interior color, rims, drivetrain, and autopilot. Stuff like the chrome trim that they blacked out recently, that should have been an option. But Tesla is so incapable they only have one option because offering 2 options would screw up their assembly line too much. Same could be said for the automatic trunk, window tints etc. Customers had to install these with aftermarket parts.

I forgot it was April fools day. I was in shock and about to unsubscribe.

My car has a V6. Problem solved. Over 300 hp and no turbo lag. Unless you're putting turbo on a decent sized engine for power it's a waste of time. Putting a turbo on a baby engine doesn't give you performance or economy. Its a lose lose situation..
1
No sir, hydrogen is the future. The electric motor is brilliant, simple, clean and efficient. The batteries though, oh dear where to start. Actually I won't start, i'll let you guys do the research as i did. Safe to say they are complete garbage.
1
Did you not read my comment, or did you just read the first sentence. I suppose it was more implied than direct. The part where i said the the electric motor is brilliant but the batteries suck. Yeah that was what i meant, the hydrogen fuel cell is the solution to the shitty battery problem.
1
Meanwhile everyone else just keeps throwing more horsepower into their cars. In a few years a BMW M3 is going to have 6000 HP. The Miata has remained fairly unchanged since it was first introduced. They have added power only to compensate for added weight. As much as i like these high powered cars its just silly and unsustainable.
1
I learned all of this by building engines in Automation. Who said video games aren't educational.
1
We forgot to mention that a diesel semi can get between 1,500 to 2,000 miles of range. That's average not best case scenario like the Tesla.
1
Meh sounds like another great idea that will never work. Instead of trying to re-invent the combustion engine why don't we work on improving existing designs and using better fuels. Bio-fuels for example Ethanol produces half as much C02 as gasoline.
1
Yes people think i'm crazy when i say i try not to use my brakes. But seriously the more you use your brakes the more you waste. For one thing it wears your brakes out faster. But also if you just anticipate the turn then get off the gas and coast well before the turn, you will save a lot of gas and slow down more for the turn therefore using less brakes as well. That guy behind you loosing his mind can just get the fudge over it.
1
Somebody call the police, someone stole this guy's balls. Joking. But not really.

So i'm wondering about the Z06 and ZR1. Some people think the Z06 will get the flat plane crank 5.5 DOHC from the C8R. I think they will save that for the ZR1 and probably use a supercharged 6.2 for the Z06. Probably the same LT5 from the C7 ZR1 so about 700 -750 hp. Then maybe a twin turbocharged version of the 5.5 for the ZR1 with hybrid assist for around 1000 hp. The reason i say the Z06 will use the 6.2 is because of cost but also the FPC engine will totally change the character of the car. So in other words they will save the top end engine for the top end model because the ZR1 will be the no compromise Corvette that will destroy any competition.

Electric cars are so last year. Hydrogen is the future.
1
Can you do a video on the difference between Ethanol/Biodiesel ICE and Gasoline/diesel ICE?
1
I had a understand trying to stroke it No I stroke a trying to it understand No I trying to understand to stroke it No I call 911
1
Its cool for an electric car and everything but without the engine is it really a Porsche?
1
I don't get why this car gets so much hate. Toyota hasn't made a sports car in about 20 years, they forgot how, so naturally they needed help. Now i admit its pretty much 100% BMW, but is BMW known for making bad cars? Didn't think so. So stop complaining and just celebrate this car.
1
1:21 I honestly though it was a car towing a fridge. But then I realized its going the wrong way and that's the dashboard from a 911. So a fridge is towing a 911? No that's the Cybertruck. I kid you not it took me a few seconds to figure this out. It literally looks like an over under fridge with black doors facing up and stainless body.

While it may be disappointing in this application I think that it may be promising for vehicles in the future. If they want to bring back the RX7 they could use some form of this engine.
