  2. The real question is why is blackface offensive in the first place? I get that it has a racist history but put that aside what is so racist about the basic concept? Racism is the belief that one race is superior to another. Given that definition how is it racist and why does it matter? If we stopped talking about race altogether it would almost totally eliminate racism. The only people who care about race are the racists, everyone else just sees people regardless of color.
