@predattak Only time I've seen it (fuel shortages) mentioned was as a critique of the German Generals, that they would outrun their supply lines... I believe they criticized Rommel for that.

If only going over what happened from a factual perspective, how does bias come into play...? Also, doesn't everybody know the war is over, so why should bias color your perspective...? No, we have to make sure the Germans lost and stay lost... Those who think that way have an invested character, so that many of their, "perspectives" are flawed...

It's a very compelling perspective. Others make counterarguments, but I think they are addressed in the video here. Today there are environmental reasons to curb coal production, but not then, and not in an emergency. That said, with all the technology available today free of wartime restrictions, it's still seems a tall order to find alternatives to oil that are self sustaining and can meet the demands of large scale warfare.

@kwoltekublai3337 The unapproachable nature of the primary sources of nonacademics, are the mass of objective facts...? So I guess unobjective psuedo facts, are the approachable primary sources of academics then... Fancy that, the academicians feed on propaganda, or their truth...

It's good to learn from people on the ground. But those same people are not omniscient, they cannot see everything, and information is controlled, so they cannot know everything too far beyond where they are.
