@BoulderPM That's because the disheveled guy on the street corner didn't have 10,000 scientists backing up his prediction. Climate Change is more like the discovery of a 500 mile wide asteroid, somewhere beyond the orbit of Jupiter, heading directly this way.

There has to be some kind of control sometime. When mice populations get out of control they eat the new born - without question. Will human's do the same? Hopefully we are smarter than the mice, but controls will have to occur. Resources are not infinite.
16
@CaptainBones222 They are potential babies. They can potentially make a baby from any cell.
12
The population is going to double in 47 years.
7
@TeaParty1776 Catastrophic warming? That's a subjective term. Is the loss of all insects catastrophic? They know the world's coral reefs are tanking. The Amazon forests are dying. Oceans are warmer than they have been for thousands of years. How bad does it have to get before we start rethinking the religion of unlimited growth through capitalism?
6
There is a MIT study , made in the 70's predicting the whole thing is going to collapse by 2030. It originally predicted 2025. http://alexanderhiggins.com/peak-civilization-mit-predicts-global-economic-collapse-by-2030/ Enjoy.
5
@TeaParty1776 You're out of your mind. Extinctions are measurable.
4
@TeaParty1776 Yes it is science. Turn off Lou Dobbs for a day and check out some actual science. The military is very concerned. They use the term 'catastrophic'. Whether you know it or not, Trump is on-board also. When he got through playing you clowns for all you're worth, he actually signed some legislation dealing with it. The military is worried about the pending sea level rise ( predicted by scientists) which will flood some major bases as well as a future "catastrophic" (their term) forced mass migration of people.
4
@TeaParty1776 The animals out there are not actively and enthusiastically destroying the planet for profit.
4
@Kynareth6 A carrot will cost $10.00
3
@skylanh4319 Mice will be here when we are gone. Following your plan that will be sooner than later. No one is going to inhabit another planet long term. It would be far, far too costly. Why not go the cheap route and fix the planet we have?
3
@skylanh4319 No one knows what is even on the planets. What are they going to mine? Sand? Whatever they find it will cost a million dollars a pound to bring it back.
3
@pete1853 Well, you must be the village idiot. You don't know what you are talking about. Last year was the warmest year in history, as predicted . Go back to your video games.
3
@TeaParty1776 Moral ideal. That's a new one. Is that the same thing as human wrecking ball? At the rate we are going there won't be much left.
3
Humans remind me of mold growing on an orange. The orange gets blacker and blacker until eventually, day by day ,the whole thing turns black. That orange is our planet.
3
@Kynareth6 Who's going to build the skyscraper in Africa? Trump?
2
@Kynareth6 These countries don't have capital. How would Capitalism work?
2
@pizza123425 Poor people with small farms need the kids to help out . in the US, back in the 1800's, families were very large 10 - 12 kids. Don't be so goddamn racist. You were lucky to be born here.
2
@TeaParty1776 Capitalism is now way out of balance. The Democrats and Republicans seem to have given up on regulating it. Sooner or later, people with pitchforks will be hitting the streets. Read about the French Revolution. It won't be pretty.
2
@CrabTastingMan What do you mean there is no free lunch? Trump inherited 415 million dollars. His first car was a Rolls Royce. I'll bet he doesn't know what a 20 dollar bill looks like.
2
Global catastrophe isn't enough? The longer we wait the more draconian the solutions will be.
2
@skylanh4319 They must be getting a tax break doing that, because I don't see it. They aren't even testing these methods. They would have to have funding equivalent to 1000 moon landings to even get equipment to the moon. They would have to mine for 200 years (assuming there is anything worth mining) to break even, so why do it?
2
@skylanh4319 The standard of living in the US has decreased in the sense that life expectancy has declined .https://www.businessinsider.com/us-life-expectancy-declined-for-third-year-in-a-row-2019-11
2
@skylanh4319 You forgot to mention the out of control pollution that's going to be the end of us.
2
@skylanh4319 CO2 is increasing off the scale.
2
@Doom_Squid_Son yes
2
@Doom_Squid_Son The human equivalent of 'Raid'.
2
Let me guess...a Chinese hoax. 10,000 scientists are wrong, you are right. OK Mr. Trump.
2
@doom4067 Off script like Trump gets off script all the time? That man is stupid. You can randomly grab anyone off the street and he will know more about what is going on than our president.
2
@BradThePitts 12 more years left? Are you an idiot? She's saying, and most scientists back her up, that if we don't get a handle on this very soon, the climate will irrevocably spin out of control. The earth will go on for millions of years. Many plants and animals will adapt. Things will be just fine for many. The climate, however, will be increasingly unlivable for our comfort level..
2
@melainewhite6409 What does bicycles have to do with asteroids?????? I said Climate Change is going to hit is hard. it is a certainty (actually it has already begun). The severity is what is unknown. If middle America gets hit by severe drought or unrelenting rainfall for years on end, it could lead to famine HERE or wipe out our economy.
2
@lawrencemiller3829 Who predicted the sea level was going to rise four feet last year? You just pulled that out of your ass, didn't you?. Name a source. I've just been reading about the military planning, how they are preparing for climate change. Last year climate change caused eight billion dollars damage to bases. They are also preparing for "catastrophic population migrations" . Send me your shit hole source. Here's what the military us saying: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSAr9TO-PEA
2
@lawrencemiller3829 Yes, nothing to worry about. It's a hoax.
2
@lawrencemiller3829 The wall is a waste of money. Illegal immigration has been at an all time low for almost a decade.
2
@MilwaukeeF40C A few degrees is huge.
2
@TeaParty1776 It's also a subjective term.
2
@Kynareth6 How do the illegal immigrants get into it to do the picking?
1
@Kynareth6 So your solutions aren't really solutions. You just like to type.
1
@Ninja1live Duh So why bring it up?
1
@madisonstreet238 That's what the Green New Deal is all about. Find ways to reduce CO2 and create new technologies resulting in jobs.
1
@ultravioletxrays125 I'd be a thousand times easier to sustain a population on the slopes of Mt. Everest, at least there would be air to breathe.
1
@ultravioletxrays125 Nuclear is a hard sell after what happened in Japan. It has to happen in ten years or the climate will spin out of control. It's called the tipping point. Look it up.
1
@ultravioletxrays125 Now read the article I sent you. I watched your cartoon. The fact is - CO2 has to be eliminated, you know, for survival. . Your cartoon ignored that requirement so it was not too helpful.
1
@ultravioletxrays125 New technologies. New technologies. I live in Michigan. There is a power plant north of where I live , near Lake Michigan, Ludington to be exact, where they built a big reservoir along side the lake, about 500 ft. above it. At night, they pump Lake Michigan water up, during the day they drop water through turbines to generate power. No smoke, no radiation , just power.
1
@dodgrblu Only?
1
@tompain2751 Gravity is a theory. If you don't think theories are real, stay off bridges.
1
@candlestyx8517 Making that comment is foolishness. Scientists have an agenda? Then they aren't scientists.
1
@andrewsmith1735 Science is "going where the evidence takes you" like a detective solving a crime. Preconceived ideas are a hindrance. A detective with an agenda might get people arrested, but not solve the crime.
1
@ivankrushensky Scientists can be wrong making predictions, largely due to lack of data, but if they predict rain tomorrow, bring an umbrella.
1
@tobe.moemeka The Catholic church considers "less birth" a sin.
1
@stephenwilburn4012 Most of the world's population is beyond the possibility for economic growth. The reason you see people selling fruit along the side of the road in poor countries is because fruit is the only thing people can afford to buy. And you think the earth can stand 5 billion more?
1
@skylanh4319 We have an aging population in the US which is why we should be welcoming young immigrants instead of kicking them out.
1
@skylanh4319 We have gathered samples from the moon and dust from a couple of asteroids.
1
@skylanh4319 Mining the moon is a pipe dream. They don't even know if there is anything up there worth mining. If they found a mountain of diamonds it would cost more to bring them back then they would be worth.
1
@TeaParty1776 The military doesn't think so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSAr9TO-PEA
1
@BeingDylan I saw it. Poor countries are not growing richer.
1
10,000 scientists agree with her.
1
This is what capitalism is predicted to do for us: http://alexanderhiggins.com/peak-civilization-mit-predicts-global-economic-collapse-by-2030/. or do to us.
1
@AreYouFinnished I doubt if it accounts for the huge consumption of water and resulting pollution required for fractionation either.
1
@lawrencemiller3829 I just looked it up. The Maldives have an average elevation of nearly 5 ft. I think the Tony Heller channel is pulling your leg. It may be under water by 2100, but that is some time off. Don't believe their
1
@lawrencemiller3829 Climate change will stir 'unimaginable'refugee crisis, says military D Carrington - The Guardian, 2016 - globalwarming-sowhat.com Dec. 1, 2016–Climate change is set to cause a refugee crisis of “unimaginable scale”, according to senior military figures. They warn that global warming is the greatest security threat of the 21st century, and that mass migration will become the “new normal”.
1
@MilwaukeeF40C That's like saying doctors don't know what they are talking about when a cancer patient dies in three years instead of two the doctor said he had to live. In the matter of climate change, from what I've read, climate change is accelerating faster than originally predicted.
1
@MilwaukeeF40C Here is the real problem. Picture of typical climate change denier: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/9f/d5/da/9fd5da61bef11284070871f6ab78a28e.jpg
1
@MilwaukeeF40C Bangladesh will likely be under water within a few years due to climate change. They are Muslim. The population there is half that of the US. They will have to migrate somewhere or try to grab portions of Hindu India. See a problem here? See why the military is concerned? See how ignorant your comment is? To make matters worse, Bangladesh is closely allied with Pakistan, who has nuclear weapons. India has nuclear weapons. A conflict there could be unimaginable also.
1
@Gyri Sulcie How many decades ago? Four? Five? Talk about pseudo science. You didn't even make a valid point. The government is taking climate change seriously. The military is taking it seriously: Congress is taking it seriously .Trump is taking it seriously (he signed it into law) : https://www.lawfareblog.com/congress-adapts-calamity-fy-2018-ndaas-climate-change-provisions You need to educate yourself beyond third grade/Fox News level.
1
@BoulderPM If the climate spins out of control and people become desperate you'll find out what expanded government looks like. Ask the Germans.
1
@MilwaukeeF40C But 18 of the warmest years in history occurred since the year 2000. Atmospheric carbon has increased 11% since then. https://climate.nasa.gov/internal_resources/1914
1
@MilwaukeeF40C THERE IS ONLY SEVERAL DECADES OF GOOD MEASUREMENTS. So you go home and smell smoke - your solution is wait until you see flames before you act? Eighteen of the warmest years ever recorded have occurred since the year 2000, while atmospheric atmospheric CO2 has increased 11% during that same time period. If the climate goes down the tubes, you will see what happens to the economy.
1
@BoulderPM Right. "Things that can't go on forever...won't".
1
@simonruszczak5563 Oil tanker? Where do you keep it? in your back yard? You must have one hell of a large back yard.
1
@raerncornerproduction6073 If you believe that you are an idiot. Are you including the military? They are taking it VERY seriously. Obviously, you are getting your information from a very reputable source - Lou Dobbs.
1
@raerncornerproduction6073 Bought off? Your proof?
1
@Sound Money Perhaps THEY should educate themselves (whoever you are talking about).
1
@lawrencemiller3829 No it isn't . Read about the subject. The military is very concerned about global warming. It caused 12 billion dollars damage to bases last year. Several bases will be under water soon. They don't think it is a fraud.
1
@dariusz1324 Cite some evidence of that claim. I want to see a case where a scientist lost funding for disagreeing. Find me an example please.
1
@dariusz1324 Climate change is going to be the corona virus catastrophe x10
1
@Kerchunk And the water will run clean again.
1
@paulmerritt8593 Was that the latest of whatever god-awful conspiracy program you get your information from? Sunspot activity has an 11 year cycle. It has nothing to do with temperature. The rest of your stuff is BS. Pulsars radiate pulses many time per second, not every 11,000 years. We've been studying the sun for only a couple hundred years, how would they know it pulses every 11,000? It's total BS.
1
@thisguy4505 In terms of climate change, however, Capitalism is a big part of the cause. The smart people are telling us we have to change. Fast.
1
@thisguy4505 She can make a speech in front of the UN General Assembly. Trump tries and everyone laughs. She's a light-year ahead of him, I would say. She doesn't go around declaring herself a "stable genius". Remember, the same people who declared Climate Change a hoax are the one's who said the same thing about coronavirus . What we are going through now is child's play.
1
@thisguy4505 How dare I what? With 263 replies, I'm not going to go back and look.
1
Max Mccurdy I notice the trained parrot-in-chief went golfing today while people are still dying.
1
@benjamindover2601 Except they have no way of disposing of the radioactive waste. That waste will be around for thousands of years.
1
@MeanBeanComedy You convinced me.
1
Hob Nob You are weak. How many blacks do you see in the Republican Senate? No representation is not strength.
1
@Jonty Good. Who cares?
1
@Jonty They have all the resources already. They go to the highest bidder . Who's going to compete?
1
Deathtrooper40 Yea, where do you draw the line?
