To make America great again is going to take more than huge tax cuts for the wealthy. Free healthcare is far less expensive than what we have now. Free college is an investment, as college graduates pay ten times the amount of taxes as a non graduate. 50% of Americans live close to the poverty line. They don't buy new cars, refrigerators, houses, etc, and the economy suffers.. Sanders has ideas. Trump doesn't.

I found an article which compared the cost of medical procedures in the US and other countries. The cost of a hip replacement in the US is $51,100. It is $4,000 in Japan. Bypass surgery in the U S costs $151,000 in the US , while the Japanese pay $14,300. An MRI in the US costs $3,000, in Japan it is $100. These are 2012 figures. Yes it is a joke.

@parallaxcrafttale Also, think of the difficulty of an American manufacturer who has to compete with a company located in a country offering free healthcare.

@Scoreking81 That article is a little ambiguous "We’re not suggesting the assumptions made in the Sanders bill are wrong, only that they aren’t Blahous’ assumptions".

Sorry, but Obamacare was invented by the Hermitage Foundation, the conservative think tank. In Massachusetts they called it Romneycare. Obama used it so he could say he got something passed.

@davidmason4037 You are wrong. This explains everything. https://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2011/10/20/how-a-conservative-think-tank-invented-the-individual-mandate/#5145e9926187

@davidmason4037 There's a video, genius. From the Republican debates. Watch the video. They discuss the whole thing.

Sanders is a socialist in the same way Franklin Roosevelt was a socialist. Both are/were wealthy capitalists , both supported policies that would actually increase their own taxes for the welfare of everyone. This is somewhat courageous. Trump on the other hand, supported huge tax cuts for himself and his cronies, for the benefit of Trump and his cronies. This is cowardly.

Doctors involved with Medicare are not government employees, and they aren't hurting financially, nor will they in the future. Our system is costing 50% more than what other countries are paying.
