@richardclifton4120 Trump gave corporations 4 trillion dollars so they wouldn't lay off employees. They used the money to buy back stock instead.

@dalejames8576 That was the whole problem. The states were ill-equipped to handle it. They didn't have the money or the expertise resulting in shutdowns.. A national pandemic should have been a federal responsibility. Trump even called himself "the nation's cheerleader" . Remember? That's embarrassing leadership.

Who was president when the economy collapsed? It takes years to recover when everything is allowed to go haywire. Germany had the pandemic too. I don't recall reading about their economy collapsing with tens of millions of layoffs.

@gregflores8959 Nope. We were in a recession when Biden took office. Trump f**ked everything up and Biden fixed it. Same thing happened when Obama took office. Republicans can't govern.
