  3.  @raymondkassay3610  Tariffs were the only way to fund the government back in McKinley's time. It's before the income tax. Do you really want to pay $30 for a dozen eggs? Tariffs are a very regressive tax. Rich people get off scot free.

  4. How about raising taxes on the rich? In the 50's and 60's they paid 70%. electing billionaires in government is the worst thing that could possibly happen. We are going entirely in the wrong direction.

  13.  @fanomapage2091  The rich paid 70% tax in the 50's and 60's. They didn't have 200' yachts in those days. Make them pay. What we did have in the 50's and 60's was a thriving middle class. Inventers? Musk wants to bring in the Indians to do that.

  16. Trump has plans to clean up the economy? That's news to me. Do you happen to know what he's proposing? He promised to increase oil production, as if that is some kind of fix. It isn't a fix. Prices didn't rise due to lack of oil.

  19. How about if we talk about taxing the rich? In the 50's and 60's they were taxed 70%. Now they are taxed less than most Americans. That is why we had a thriving middle class 50 years ago. That all ended under Reagan and we have been sinking lower ever since.

  20.  @Ziegfried82  There's not enough gold in the universe to support our economy. Talk about inflation. You are right about the rich not paying the 70%, however. I don't think the EPA had that much to do with with the auto industry. The US just built crappy cars. Remember the Nova? I don't think trading with China was harmful either. Moving manufacturing over there was. They stole our manufacturing secrets.
