Also, they are 50 years old , generate 1/3 the energy they were designed to produce, and are expensive to run. The energy is no longer competitive with other sources. You also ignored rail traffic as a means to move freight. Speaking of your barge traffic, those barges are tax-payer subsidized to the tune of $42,000 per barge. Finally, fish mortality is mainly due to water temperature, not lack of ladders ( they don't work anyway - 3% of the fish use them). Impounded water is too warm.
