@thestig7679 No, in the US , in the past, we had a system based on compromise. It din't matter so much who won an election because both parties wanted to get things done. In the last decade or so, things changed. We now have a militant right wing based on "my way or the highway". There is little compromise any more. Just a few days ago, Pelosi had a 3 trillion dollar stimulus package, the GOP had one for one trillion . In the old days , the two sides would have settled for two trillion and the matter would have been closed. Both sides would have claimed victory and the matter would have been over.
Today, the GOP is suddenly pretending they care about the deficit (because they know Biden is going to win) , after spending money like drunken sailors for the past three years. They say they want to give money to the American people, but they cut out unemployment benefits by 30%.
