  5.  @kandykane3552  I don't know. That is likely true, but package delivery is 30% of the post office revenue. The GOP has been trying to privatize it for decades which would be devastating to average citizens getting their medicine and farmers. It's a government service, like the military. They aren't designed to make a profit.

  11.  @tje5553  I'm talking disrupting the service to make it profitable. Farmers use the post office to deliver farm products, eggs for propagating chickens, for instance. Do you have any idea what UPS would charge to drive out in the middle of nowhere to move eggs? i take it, you do like to eat.

  16. Millions depend on the post office to get their medications, you selfish piece of doodoo. Many farmers depend on it also. Whoever said the post office has to be profitable? It's a service. Is the military profitable? The National Parks?

  18.  @horticultureandhomes  Yes the economy perked up in Obama's last 2 yrs. and it carried over into Trump's term. Obama gets the credit. Of course it didn't take trump long to ruin it. Regarding the military, Obama was trying to pay down the deficit during that period and largely succeeded. Trump, the so-called conservative, is spending money like a drunken sailor with the deficit going sky high. Republicans just can't govern. Three consecutive Republican administrations in a row have brought about recessions. I think the last time a Democratic administration had a recession was perhaps Carter? Not sure.
