  2. Labor participation rate is low in part because more boomers are retiring and many retiring early. MANY people looked at the Covid craziness in 2020 and actively searched for any way possible to retire early. I'm one of those - not yet claiming SS or pension, but drawing down a retirement account. Others who were younger moved in with family or took in family at a low rent for a win-win. People discovered that things could change rapidly and unexpectedly - and re-evaluated their work/life priorities.
