  1. I truly hope you've managed to stay on methadone instead, despite methadone as well obvs having it's own side effects.. it's still so much better. I'm personally a recovering (mostly) heroin(/opioid) addict myself, and despite a bumpy road, I've managed to stay on Subutex/Buprenorphine for about 2-3 years now, after facing homelessness and even death (by overdose). It's such a terrible life to live, and even just navigating the stigma itself is hard enough; let alone battling the addiction and everything that follows. I'm so tired of people's judgement when it comes to addicts and addiction. It's truly a disease to battle, and have nothing to do with your own personality, will, traits or strength (or lack thereof). Cudos to anyone and everyone that have found a way to manage their addiction, or a loved one's addiction. It's brutal and takes so much strength.
