@eln5343 ..and who would you say is the "best" country? I mean, although you can measure it by the happiness index, the economy, human rights record and such, it's still fairly objective.
Also, what's your point, really? I didn't say Norway was the "best" country or anything. Would I say both personally and objectively that Norway is "better" than America? Absolutely.
I wasn't really comparing Norway and the US, I was just saying that I'm truly grateful for being born and raised in a country that actually cares about their citizens and their, and society's wellbeing overall. We're far from perfect, but that's anyways impossible, as nothing can actually be "perfect". Constantly improving and progressing is crucial for a thriving democracy. Still, Norway as a whole is absolutely one of the safest places to live. We're free, with tons of individual rights, we never have to worry about shootings of ANY kind, neither from citizens or the police, we're guaranteed safe, professional, accessable, mostly free, and when it's not free, it's still truly affordable for even our weakest members. Money does not determine our health, as it should be. Most schools, even higher education at times, is free (primary school is always free, up until 14th-16th grade (depending on different things). We have so many benefits from our social democracy. The entire country benefits from our more social politics. Literally everyone. Also, we don't have those awful lobbyists buying our politicians. I could go on and on, but hey, you get my drift. I don't understand why our model is considered "extreme", "radical" or anything like that. It's not. It just makes sense. I'm 100% sure that if all those spweing nonsense about ""socialism"", which many confuse with both fascism and communism.. which is obiviously not at all the same thing, if those people lived under our system for some time, say a year or whatever, they'd LOVE IT.
Gosh.. it just baffles me how so many americans think that their overall system works. There's clearly so much corruption, pain and unnecessary suffering.. and no one cares. It's truly sad. America could be great, but the entire system would need a deep cleanse. There's no actual freedom when money talks instead of the people.
I honestly still don't get the point of your reply, as you didn't actually reply to anything that I said.
