This story is such an important story. Not just this story alone, but stories like this of women's pain being glossed over, ignored. The amount of pain we as women have to deal with due to our physical and/or mental pain itself is shameful. Going through the actual pain of the medical issue itself shouldn't lead to even more pain; as in the pain of being forced to deal with people whether they're family, our partner, friends, or medical professionals at all levels who just shrug our pain and experiences off as some "silly, hysterical hormonal issues". As if our pain, especially all pain regarding our reproductive health is something we shouldn't ever be concerned about.. that it's "natural" as they say.. always falling back on "women have had uteruses and given birth since humanity began, and back then women just gave birth and life continued" as if it's a non-issue. As if raising concerns about our pain and reproductive health is just us being dramatic. As if we're somehow weak by speaking up about it.. that we should just keep quiet and "stop being hysterical". It really is disgusting how little people, even medical professionals care. The degree to which we're ignored is abhorrent, as if we don't deserve better. There's so much unnessecary suffering and death amongst women due to our reproduction health being neglected.
I salute Sabrina for speaking out about this issue. I can't imagine how painful and traumatic it must be, but her sharing her story is great. There's so much strength in her voulnerability, truly. Us women need to keep speaking up, because we deserve to be taken seriously. Our pains and concerns has to be taken seriously. We need men in tjis fight as well. You don't need to have a uterus to be an ally and speak up. This is not a "woman's issue", this is a HUMAN ISSUE.
